Anyone who calls their own blog "highlyrespected" immediately loses a lot of points.
I looked up Scott Greer. His twitter username is literally "Scott Greer 6’2” IQ 187" LOL so he's talentless narcissist trying to provoke hate follows. His profile pic is the dictionary definition of "smug".
While Greer has 141.3K Followers, they are clearly fake. His pinned tweet only has 6 comments and 71 likes. High follower count + low engagement = fake followers. He probably has less than 1,000 real followers, and many of those are probably hate follows since he reeks of extreme douchebag energy on purpose.
The idea of a "national divorce" isn't a fantasy, it is a very real possibility and entirely within the control of Democrats, not Republicans. If they stay crazy like they are now, it will absolutely happen, even if Republicans win more national elections, the tension between crazy libtard ideological policies in blue states and commonsense red state policy will be irreconcilable. Eventually the out-of-power side will begin to defy whichever side controls the federal government, forcing a constitutional crisis and thus a "national divorce".
Any "national divorce" will not bordergore for obvious reasons I should not have to explain. There are two core "liberal" areas: the NorthEast from DC up the east coast to Canada, and the West Coast from Seattle all the way down the border with Mexico. Once these areas are severed, in whole or in part, the remaining nation will skew so Red that the Blue minorities within it will simply be suppressed. These islands of Blue can simply emigrate, or accept that their policy preferences will be ignored thanks to their minority status.
The linked map is laughable bullshit and does not track actual R vs B areas. If you look up the 2020 election map you will see the OP map grossly exaggerates the blue areas.
And that something about living by water turns people into democrats.
Aside from the complete mess in Arizona and New Mexico, almost every other blue county is adjacent to the Pacific or Atlantic Ocean or the Great Lakes.
It's almost entirely due to how the ports increase trading traffic, which ends up with denser cities and more immigration (both legal and illegal). Etc etc. You can see similar trends going back to ancient civilizations. Only instead of necessarily being "leftist" back then they were certainly metropolitan, which often produced similar levels of regressive culture and government.
I quite agree. As many negative elements as they tend to attract, without them any kind of practical progress or advancement in a society would grind to a halt.
Although admittedly, the Internet does at least offer alternative avenues for free trade of ideas and knowledge, actual goods and resources are still going to be largely port for quite a while, regardless of whether or not we're heavily dependent on foreign produced goods. There's just some resources that we may not be able to acquire from more local regions.
New Mexico has a lot of Indian reservations, so that part makes sense. Arizona would be a lot redder if they had honest elections. I'd be curious to see what Kemp and his butt buddy Raffensperger did to Georgia's map, but for some reason the thumbnail image isn't on the linked webpage.
And that something about living by water turns people into democrats.
Democrats dominate big cities. Most big cities are on the coasts. Interior and rural areas are overwhelmingly Red except for big cities that usually serve as transportation hubs.
I don't agree with some of that last part, the people who hold power are kind of fucking ridiculous and no better than discord mods - and in some pretty high clearance positions there are legit furries. Likewise, every now and again, a hero comes from nothing and a lot of this shit has no political solution. Certainly few solutions will come from an equivocal political stock because they really are two cheeks of the same ass clenching tighter and tighter.
A lot weirder shit has happened in the history of the world too, not to mention that the laity of the left has been saying it for years, what with Texas always threatening it and the way they begrudge "flyover" states.
National divorce is neither destructive nor evil, it’s just dumb.
Conservatives who entertain it are like a battered woman who dreams about leaving her domineering husband, but knows she never will. It’s a fantasy to avoid real-world problems.
Nations are not marriages.
Schizo? I get that people are using the term "divorce," but you didn't have run with the analogy if you don't like it.
Unless there is a massive economic collapse... we will remain one country.
Ok, but we are cruising for a bruising on various levels, and no country yet has lasted forever.
The question is in what order does all this shit happen.
The article points out a lot of reasons this isn't going to happen tomorrow. As each straw breaks, I'd keep testing that hypothesis.
The thing about battered women is sometimes their domineering husbands end up dead under mysterious circumstances.
Of course the only two options aren't "massive economic collapse" or "Union forever". And one doesn't even have to be a student of history to see this: one could simply look South of the border where cartels are the government in certain regions.
If the author can't entertain this possibility it's due to his own lack of imagination, not because it's impossible.
Interesting article. It does seem unrealistic but it also seems like little progress is made. I’m thankful to live in a red state and it’s important to participate in local elections but we really have to influence culture. Media has a ton of influence and the celebrities spouting the usual talking points have a lot of influence on kids. I see this a lot. I don’t think a national divorce is happening but we can fortify areas
Anyone who thinks this is a viable idea needs to keep up with Ukrainian history. When the Democrats enact regime change, they aren't going to let you keep half of what they stole.

Also, just because a county votes blue doesn't mean they're for all the crazy shit, Iowa democrats aren't the same as California democrats
My most important takeaway of that map is we are being invaded from our southern border.

Aye, those are some additional good points.
So basically more Jews
And, for entirely unrelated reasons, open gates.

They're putting chemicals in the water

What an absolutely retarded map.
He makes a strong case for terrorism in order to create a weak state such that succession can occur.
SECESSION

Have to agree with you on this

Until you people are willing to hold your fucking ground and push back, nothing is going to change.
