Honestly? Season one struck me as fart sniffing and the only saving grace was Anthony Hopkins. I didn’t bother after the wahmaning towards the end of season one as it was getting the got treatment
Personally, I thought Season 1 was interesting enough, even if the season end was a bit "meh". Season 2 left me bored and I ended up watching to the end of it solely because I'd started (a bad habit). I watched about 20 minutes of season 3 and just went "yeah, this is dumb as shit and actively annoying to watch" all because of how stupid it got. It went from an interesting hook, to boring, to irritating. All within the first 3 seasons.
I would not recommend the show, even season 1, to another person because of how shit the later seasons are. There's no payoff to starting something that will only end in tragedy.
this. season one had good moments, but there was dumb shit of early this-wave feminism and the white chick and black prostitute and white prostitute suddenly became superheros in revenge fantasy porn for middle aged women who are mad that they failed to lock down chad.
I also remember Nerdrotic said something about how this show was radically changed once Hillary lost. This is a great example of a show that starts out good and then gets devoted by woke monster
The whole style of "long meandering, confusing plot threads followed by big twist" can't work forever. You can't base a show entirely on teasing mysteries.
Sooner or later you have to get on with the story, but that inevitably reveals the writers have no plan and there's nothing actually there.
Pretty much with you. Loved first season and second season I liked the native American’s arc. Gave 3 a chance but stopped watching when the Android let the female boss of a syndicate go because “it was nice to see a woman in power”
I think I made it through season 2 before I stopped watching. My interest plummeted after the whole background of Ed Harris's character was explained. Once there wasn't any mystery left to solve, I lost interest in the show. The whole robot revolt thing didn't do it for me either.
1 was good, 2 was bad because it repeated 1 but with smug negress mary sue as the main, 3 was watchable but not good, 4 was the writers crawling up their own ass
99% of the reason for tuning in was the music composition though. The whole gimmick and appeal of the show is that it manipulates your emotions with familiar songs that have been recomposed to be a bit unfamiliar.
Made by the mind behind the Fargo TV show - Noah Hawley. The music throughout the three seasons of Legion was consistently one of the best parts of an excellent (perhaps my favorite) show. Interestingly, most of the songs are covers, performed by the band made up of the show runner and Jeff Russo (music director), but sometimes even the characters themselves sing.
I’ll link two examples, first one has no spoilers, second and third ones are pretty important scenes from the show, if you think you care:
Westworld turned into irredeemable feminist garbage in season 2, with the first already being weak/woke. It gets even worse when you know that they changed the ending of season two because Redditors had already guessed it.
I would have more to say on it, but it was so unremarkable that the impression it left behind is barely extant.
Loved season 1 so much. Season 2 was a logical conclusion to the story, even if it wasn't in westworld. The story was over.
Season 3 episode 1 had random people masked in public (on the future, not modern times) and every male character was a dick to every woman. Typical woke shit. Got 15 min in and decided to not watch any more. The show ended at season 2 for me. What's left is am animated corpse like the last few seasons of game of thrones

Eh, I enjoyed it but you're not wrong. Ed Harris also started out strong and deserved a better character arc.

I loved season one but Hopkins was the main reason. He did a great job. You like the original movie with Yul Briner?
^ This is the only comment you need to read.

I recall that rumor as well. Would explain a lot.

I despise this trope in all science fiction. Uppity toasters go straight into the bin. (or recycled for spare parts)

Stop at 1
Season 1 was great, but signs that season 2 would be shit were already plain to see by the end of it.
I don't know anyone who bothered watching season 3, let alone 4.
That multi-timeline shit got pretty popular after Westworld. I suspect it's a way to cover bad writing.
Yeah, I don't know why they stuck with that. It doesn't work when you know its happening from the start.
Started stage 4 feminist cancer towards the end of season 1. Hard pass for the rest.
Long overdue. House of the Dragon next, thanks.
I think the first season was pretty good.

On a similar note, have you seen Legion?
I have not.
Ahh, I highly recommend it.
