The Atlantic: Don’t Patronize Fetterman (archive.ph)

Part of our culture’s ongoing stigmatization of disability stems from our profound lack of understanding about the variability—and spectrum—of physical and mental challenges. Day after day, we stigmatize disabled Americans, but we also jeer at our fellow citizens who even present as disabled in some minor way. Liberals once ruthlessly mocked the halting manner in which Donald Trump descended a ramp. Because Trump did not walk normally, in their view, something was of course wrong with him—further evidence he was unfit to be president. Conservatives, for their part, continue to attack Joe Biden because he manages a stutter and does not speak “normally.” Fetterman, who has dealt with auditory-processing issues and has exhibited muddled speech since his stroke, is likewise the subject of troubled stares, jokes, and questions about his fitness to serve in the U.S. Senate.

Imagine what mental gymnastics this mongoloid had to endure to actually push this.

They want to install literal retards as your rulers, and they will destroy you for objecting to it.

Liberals once ruthlessly mocked the halting manner in which Donald Trump descended a ramp. Because Trump did not walk normally, in their view, something was of course wrong with him—further evidence he was unfit to be president.

"Evidence" never entered into it. If you see someone walking in a way they never walk in other situations it's pretty obvious they're doing it for a reason, such as the surface they're walking on potentially being slick.

Conservatives, for their part, continue to attack Joe Biden because he manages a stutter and does not speak “normally.”

This not only downplays the extent of Biden's issues, it fails to take into account the fact that he didn't speak this way before. It's one thing if a president is just a poor orator, and quite another to observe a decline over time.

Fetterman, who has dealt with auditory-processing issues and has exhibited muddled speech since his stroke, is likewise the subject of [...] questions about his fitness to serve in the U.S. Senate.

Every candidate for Senator is the subject of questions about their fitness to serve in the Senate. That's how it fucking works. The idea of not doing so is simply ludicrous.

Dr. Oz must win this Senate race!

Oz will stab the voters in the back. Fetterman will stab the voters wherever his handlers point him.

I am not supporting Oz because I think he will be a good senator.

He is needed to get at least 51 R Senators to take the Senate.

Biden appointed circuit judges need to be stopped and Oz winning helps in that.

Oz is vastly better than Fetterman for this one reason.

Only reason why I hope Oz wins is that this trend of electing a literal vegetable to office needs to end.

Both are just as corrupt. But 1 sends a worse precedent in my mind.

Well said.

We have already one vegetable in national office.

We don't need Fetterman to make it two.

Dr Oz is perhaps the one politician I'd rather have a literal vegetable in office than

I get that Americans don't yet understand the problems you run into when Muslims get power, but they're fucking serious

I'd also like to point out that I was repeatedly told that Trump and republicans at large just had to vote for Oz in the primaries because he's the one that would win the election proper, well now he's up against this guy, so how'd that idea pan out?

Is Oz an observant Muslim?

He claims to be a "Secular Muslim", but if you think that means he'll side with Americans over Muslims when it comes down to it I have a bridge to sell you

Plenty of "moderate", "westernised" Muslims in the UK that are more than happy with the ghettoisation and child rape that take place here

"He deserves the same softball questions as every Dem candidate!"

Fetterman doesn't need special treatment. Dem candidates are all basically getting the retard treatment by giving them easy questions that have been negotiated in advance.

It's not the SAME you dolts.

Trump was on a slick surface with leather soled shoes which, as anyone who wears more than crocs or tennis shoes in their lives can attest to, can be a perilous situation, especially for the elderly. But Trump's mental facilities were all there. (Now you can argue whether or not he was a madman or had the proper personality to be in that position but tough, sometimes elections have consequences!)

Biden is demented and brain-damaged. Fetterman is brain-damaged.

Neither man is capable of understanding intellectual debates (which Fetterman would need to be on the floor of the Senate) let alone making complex intellectual decisions.

Would this Atlantic writer feel ableist getting on his favorite public transportation bus with a BLIND driver?

Don't patronise Fetterman

... because he doesn't understand when you do and it shows how poor his overall comprehension is?
