Since I posted the story of his “arrest” tis only fair I post the correction!
good job.
reminder how hard people downvoted xleb2 for doubting this story because it was inconvenient to the narrative.
You can spin it that way if you'd like. I down-voted because he said there wasn't anything about arrest in the article, yet there was, by way of a quote from one of McInness' colleagues.
there's no spin here, and my message is clear. tribal thinking is unhealthy.
if a story doesn't pass the smell test, you should call it out, and other people shouldn't railroad you just because they really want to believe a story is real. so many stories on the internet are maliciously framed if not flat-out lies, and reasonable doubt should be exercised.
LOL what? Of course you're spinning. I just told you why I downvoted, and it had nothing to do with "duh narrative" or whatever, and nothing to do with whether or not he took the original "article" at face-value. It had to do with him either missing or misreading something from the article, then building his post around it. That made it a bad post. Hence, downvote. That's the way this is supposed to work: You upvote truth and insight, you downvote falsehood.
You making this into some kind of thing about belief, or tribes, is spin. You really think nearly 20 people downvoted because they just really like Gavin McInnes? I doubt you could find 20 people in once place who even have a positive opinion of McInnes.
Also, if you're using this "article," the one posted on "lamag" to inform your reality, you have your head screwed on backwards.
Very good of you!
When the average.win user has more journalistic integrity than actual journalists
The average turd on the street has more journalistic integrity than actual journalists.
Better than the MSM
A few observations:
This source is atrocious. It's below "ranty op-ed" level of quality.
Title is inaccurate, McInnes has not "admitted" to anything, and it is a damn way from certain that there was any "hoax" beyond that invented by this..."publication."
Shitty maybe, sneaky probably, but a hoax? McInnes never said he was arrested. The sum total of events is that there was an incident during his podcast, for whatever reason he ducked out during it and didn't return. Then the press went nuts speculating that he might be in Federal custody. I'm not seeing any evidence that McInnes and his organization invented this rumor, or even had anything to do with spreading it.
At present, it looks like the worst he did was let people speculate on what happened without disavowing them of the conclusions they had jumped to.
Also, for crissakes, actually look at the "article." Why would you even re-post anything from these people?
That article is pure cringe
Good job.
Are people really that surprised or upset about this? Goyvin has always been a milquetoast faux-edgy attention whore.
I understand he doesn't owe his fans anything, but what a black pill. With friends on the right like this, who needs enemies?
0/10 hoax. Dumb and gay. Why?
It wasn't a hoax per se. It was a little "art experiment" as he calls it. It wasn't the greatest art, but whatever.
If you've been following Gavin, he's obsessed with punk history. This is completely out of the 70s era punk playbook.
They say this stuff directly because they are actually blackpilled about consumers/fans and know it won't change anything to say it aloud.
People won't stop consuming things even when the foremost theme of their soma becomes "you are evil and should not exist"... so what are literal politifeed podcast listeners going to do, really? Switch talking heads? The talking heads feel their fans are fuuuuuuuuucking retarded for consuming them. This is really their opinion, don't fool yourself and don't spend your time at their teets; it is absurd and they don't respect you for it at all. They respect you like Hillary Clinton respects a prospective voter. They respect you like Zuckerberg respects a facebook user.
I don't care if it's McInnes, Tucker Carlson, a tranny youtube groomer, or some niche cancelled personality pretending to live in a cabin because he would not stop singing "A Nigger Stole My Bike". They all detest fans because their profound and ahistorical over-socialization has left them with a hugely lopsided ratio of experience vs respect. And they are not wrong to lack respect. It is chipped away as a result of their experience (which is actually broadened when they abuse fandom) and the ratio ever deepens in a one way cycle.
Oof. What a poser
What exactly was he trying to accomplish here?
Maby he took the most retarded, unethical shit from SJWs and decided to "start a conversation".
Have you even watched his show? Gavin is obsessed with provocateurs of all kinds. He's an encyclopedia of everything punk. During his Vice years, Vice was constantly pushing the envelope. He being doing these media stunts his ENTIRE career.
So if you've been paying attention, its par for the course. It's who he is. The "omg I can't believe he did that" is Antifa-esque concern trolling.
He also didn't fake getting arrested. He did some little weird intro at the beginning of a show then shut it down abruptly. And, again if you've been watching you could tell he was acting because he did it at like the perfect time and he's a terrible actor.
Why are you yet again uncritically taking this articles word for it
I think this is the first I've commented about this whole situation.
Called it!
It's over for him
I like how the same people who took the first article at face value are doing the exact same thing again
stopped reading right there.
He became an American citizen within the last year.
