For Women’s Equality Day: Feminist Icon “Rosie the Riveter” quit after two weeks, afraid an injury might prevent her from playing cello. (archive.ph)

What a bunch of fucking whining. "Waahhhhh, women didn't have a choice, they were expected to be wives and mothers and form families, Rosie the Riveter is problematic, wah, wah, wah!"

Shut. The fuck. Up. Do you want to know who had no choice? The men who were drafted and shipped across both the Atlantic and Pacific to fight, kill, and die for years on end while the women lived in relative comfort at home, with maybe the option to work in the shitty, dead-end factory jobs the men usually did before WWII happened. And we can see plain as day women weren't forced into those positions either, considering every possible Rosie model quit within weeks because they couldn't bear the thought of breaking a toenail.

She had a choice? I thought that was a time of "women need to step up and work because the men were off to war."

Acting like that actually happened… the “We can do it” slogan was made to convince female employee’s to stay at the job ironically.

Soon you will find most narratives of history you were taught were fabricated.

Edward Bernaise and the rise of consumerist propaganda really did a number on the country.

Rosie didn't just quit. There are 2-3 women who might be the model for Rosie, and they all quit within weeks. 😂

We can do it- but we won't.

We get that millions of men are fighting and dying for our country, but it’s inconvenient work and we already have the right to vote- women

So, even back then women were spoiled. The US has been rotten for a very long time.

If you're not aware of white feather girls, you need to start reading. Modern women are 'merely' whores, but they were arguably worse a hundred years ago.

If there's one thing that has remained the same it's the sheer easiness of getting them to rabidly support the current thing.

Weren't white feather girls a British thing though, or did the white girls do that in all of the western European countries? It is weird how anglo countries seem to have been the source for all of these problems. Something about the freedom they gave to women, protestantism not being strict enough, the puritan belief in equality maybe?

It was primarily a British thing, yeah.

It’s disputed between her and Naomi Parker who quit to be a waitress and get married 3 times.

This symbol of feminism is actually iconic of feminism - for the lies, deception and narcissim emblemic in that movement.

At least Rosie is still feminine looking and doesn't resemble a soyjack.
