The men who were drafted and shipped across both the Atlantic and Pacific to fight, kill, and die for years on end while the women lived in relative comfort at home, with maybe the option to work in the shitty, dead-end factory jobs the men usually did before WWII happened. And we can see plain as day women weren't forced into those positions either, considering every possible Rosie model quit within weeks because they couldn't bear the thought of breaking a toenail.
