Partly their own fault at this point after years of "My fellow whites" which then gets immediately followed up by "I'm not white!" when called out on anything.
Repeated perpetuation of both in group bias and racial tensions when useful will lead to the inevitable consequences of race riots where starting divides are made entirely on skin colour.
