The reason the world was so safe for Americans was that everyone knew the black helicopter would show up to rescue them from anywhere. It's also the mission that guys love doing the most because it is so clear cut: rescue the fellow countryman and kill anyone that tries to stop you. There have been times when terrorist assholes kidnapping westerners would take all the Europeans and leave the Americans because black helicopters. The entire western journo profession banks on the fact that they'll get pulled off a rooftop when things get too hot.
