Good riddance! The less chinese TKers in my matches, the better.
Well, at least no more alphabet virtue signalling and no bazillion WW2 games.
Can't exactly start throwing stones when you sit in a Germany-sized glass house :D
Whelp, that's the end of the games industry.
On the upside, we might get to see if such restrictions are good for society compared to the ever degenerating media in the West. In the mean time, less competition from Chinese developers.
They're not.
People naturally seek that which is forbidden to stimulate themselves. Make it impossible and you don't have curious humans but apathetic drone husks.
You have to tell them enough is enough at some point and stop them. Otherwise they'll keep pushing and you'll get today's West and tomorrow's Weimar.
Great, let them be permabanished to Hello Kitty Island Adventure. But you know their prisoners will still be farming gold in WoW and TESO and whatever the new big MMO is now.
The only other nationality that even comes close is Brazilians.
You've clearly never played a game that was popular in Peru.
Their young men are becoming dissatisfied with their lot and life and must be brought to heal, lead back to the yoke and strapped in. They've got to pull the load. No one else is capable of doing so. They're just complaining because they've begun to realize they are enslaved and thrown scraps by society until they are broken or they kill themselves.
No real hope for a family. No real hope of achieving satisfying goals. No real hope of building anything for themselves.
The government and society are frantically smashing all of men's remaining toys, as warnings of how bad things can get if they don't get back to work.
I think we'll see one of two outcomes in the next ten to twenty years. Either China implodes and becomes some sort of war torn madhouse with warlords roaming the land, or China's gonna have to get into a hot war with someone just to burn off all the excess men.
Coincidentally, with the incompetent Biden regime in charge, now's the perfect time for China to invade Taiwan.
Nothing short of coup will make that happen and CCP keeps its leash too tight to ever let as little as entertaining the idea fly under the radar.
Given China's history Imploding would be the most likely scenario. They've been doing that for a few thousand years.
But to quote the G-Man:
I'm against censorship, BUT...
Based.
I'm not opposed to the depiction of gambling, but the rest of that garbage can go into the ocean with the car batteries.
"Think of the children!"
No.
Games were already becoming a loot box fiesta and Genshin accelerated the progress by a lot.
I don't want every game to be like FIFA.
Banning them isn't the answer.
You can still play FIFA without buying any loot boxes.
You really can’t & you know it.
So they no longer offer any sort of offline mode? You're forced to play ultimate team and buy loot boxes?
And the communities of every single multiplayer game on the internet all heaved a collective sigh of relief. The Chinese are a plague.
Wow what's going to happen to Genshin impact and Mihoyo
I hope they're able to somehow get the IP out of China. It's a damn shame the Japanese weren't the ones to make a Breath of the Wild game with waifus.
im not "concerned" about it i dont play Genshin, but im just curious. And this is still a gamer forum in case you forgot.
You are the one who started raging at me cause i take an interest in the fate of games on a friggen gamer forum. And you are the newbie here on top of that . Dont come to forums if you dont like the culture
wow. you really are complaining about "gatekeeping" now? you really dont know much about this place. We are very pro gatekeeping. Why are you raging so much just because i am interested in something you are not.? Get out of this place if it upsets you that people care about games on a gamer forum
Found the commie.

Paranoia runs rampant on inbreds such as yourself. Not a surprise you think he is my alt.

Comment Approved: Inbreds isn't a slur.
It's a shame that Cali has about half of that ban list too, and it's the wrong half.
loot boxes - so basically everything with multiplayer component
gacha - good riddance
gambling - even as side mini-games? basically everything
Twitch or live-stream integration - Is that thing? That's something that's usually a console feature.
smoking - Can't really thing about any non-western series that features smoking
drinking - Bars are kind of stable background in any setting so basically everything
tattoos - basically everything
games featuring any military or nation other than China in a favorable light - basically all FPS
positive depictions of evil mythological creatures - basically most of jRPGs that experiment
defeating god - basically all jRPGs
depicting Nazis - in case any FPS managed to slip through
real world religions - basically everything
games from Japan - how specific
games with an anime art-style - in case games from Japan wasn't specific enough.
Can anyone seriously think of any game that can go through this extinction filter? All I can think of is Sports games.
Old X-Com style games maybe? Your base would have to be located solely in China, though.
Lots of 3D platformers... that aren't made in Japan.
Puzzle games.
Party games.
Fighting games... that aren't made in Japan, and don't feature smoking, bars, or any depiction of drinking or gambling, or tattoos. I think Override: Mech City Brawl fits the bill.
Flight simulators would be fine as well.
And blood (games with blood have been already banned, as well as ghosts and skeletons etc.).
Games that come with bribes addressed to local Chinese official?
A fairly based maneuver.
My Red Dead Online experience is already MUCH better now that they limited Chinese childrens’ gaming hours. Cheating is 1/10th of what it used to be. This is icing on the cake.
Huh. Let's look at this from another angle. They've banned anything American or Japanese essentially. Videogames have influenced China so much it was turning the population into another culture. So China banned it.
Usually China spreads by influence and slowly turning enemies into Chinese. Mulan wasn't Chinese, but the area she lived is very Chinese now. So the US doing the reverse is pretty freaking amazing.
