[Tweet] "Another part of Australian culture that Americans don't understand, is that we don't fear our government." Claire Lehmann, founding editor of Quillette (archive.md)

Well, I don't fear my government, I used to have contempt for it and now I hate it with the passion of an exploding nuke.

Pretty sure it's the exact opposite. The land that doesn't fear their government is the one that gives it guff and resistance, that questions its choices and inspects its sources.

Australia is terrified of their government. They don't dare make a peep out of line. Let alone out of line, they don't dare make a peep even in-line.

Asking for sources, checking those sources, and bringing up in public if those sources have questionable elements isn't fear, Lehmann. It's an expectation of honesty and respect. NOT asking, NOT checking, NOT bringing anything in public, NOT investigating, NOT watching over their actions, that's the sign of a beaten dog, not a brave and fearless culture. Australians are cowards and fearful yes-wymxn.

"Yes sir, whatever you say sir, don't let it be me next sir." isn't brave, sniveling worm.

we don't fear our government

so that's why you let them put you in camps, walk all over you, and deny you your humanity?

Either you're brainless and/or a masochist.

Don't think she said this? I was unsure myself, but she did indeed say the OP quote in a tweet dated September 5, 2021.

Sad to see the person behind Quillette's fine with Australia's tyranny but it's a nation of prisoners and jailors so I probably shouldn't be surprised.

She's been defending the "quarantine camps" as well, and the involuntary internment of people in them. She's lost the plot.

Nothing surprising there. Lehmann is is neckbeard atheist from before atheism split into the woke and anti-woke factions. The anti-woke faction is exactly the same as the woke faction, the only difference is the rhetoric they use to try to gain totalitarian power. Lehmann is scum.

I mean as long as the government is left wing, blue checkmark would believe there's no need to fear.

That's because the vast majority of Australians are fucking retarded believe they are on the same side as their government simply because they virtue signal to the same tranny god. It's how rich assholes who have never done a damn thing in their lives always get poor morons to vote for them.

As Daniel the Man pointed out, she’s completely wrong. If a government in any “democratic” country was going to literally start killing its own citizens, it’d be this one…

I don’t fear them, per she. I despise them. I absolutely fucking hate their guts…

I don’t think people from elsewhere understand just how corrupt and oligarchic this country is. How little power we have, as citizens…

Is the US more corrupt? Yes. But do Americans seemingly have more power, or more… “Will”, I suppose, to change things..? I think so.

Australians are apathetic, obedient, slavish, sycophantic freaks. It genuinely scares me how much Australians shit on “outsiders”, or even anyone questioning “the rulez” or “not playing the game”…

Watch our country fall apart from afar, and feel for us as the ones who actually have to live through it. Especially Victorians, and Melburnians even more so… Melbourne is so corrupt, and so broken, it’s like… Australia’s version of Portland or Baltimore or… Somewhere even worse. Nuke it from fucking orbit, I say, at this point.

And fuck Lehmann. As others have said, she’s just an opportunistic narc, saying whatever she thinks will get her the most financial benefit… 😒

Self-interest trumps espoused “values” and “ideology”, every time…
