Having not seen the video, I think there is a time limit on how long you can get away with "panic while screaming." I get the feeling this woman crossed it, and kept not doing anything but crying.
I think most of us would need a moment to compose ourselves with such a crazy situation, but after 30seconds to a minute most people would have taken a deep breath and acted.
Fair enough. That's one of the issues of a screenshot instead of an archive link, I'd have to take a chunk of effort to track down the thread to see the video.
In that case, yeah I think that's a normal and understandable reaction. Back when I was younger I panicked similarly when a school of fish started bouncing off my boat, so I can't imagine orcas make the situation less troubling.
Yeah I take back what I said, that's a solid situation to be confused in. Between them surrounding the boat, and physically stopping to stare at their prey on the boat, just taking off is clearly a huge risk but its equally likely for them to attacking.
Though who has a boat with no siding/railing on it. That's just asking for all sorts of really bad situations to happen.
Misogyny 1: Treating a woman differently than a man, when it's a disadvantage.
Misogyn: 2: Treating a woman the same as a man, when it's a disadvantage.
What she's doing makes sense - she's on some weird flat boat with no side rails - a sea lion has climbed onto her boat and they do have teeth and sometimes bite people - there's several killer whales circling the boat and looking madly at the boat - and I suspect from the strange boat, her tone, and that she's recording, that she works for some agency that probably has a strict rule against interfering with wildlife or something - and she legit doesn't know what to do just like anyone in her situation wouldn't.
Most of the deleted comments treat her like a guy - disliking her because of her autistic-like voice and being upset with her for not being immediately all knowing of what to do and confident.
Dunno where in the world this is, but generally you're not supposed to turn the propeller on with a protected species that close to the boat. I think most places would consider orcas more vulnerable than sea lions so would expect her to try to shoo the sea lion off the boat before trying to move if it became a problem.
Imagine your life being dependent on a woman being rational, poor seal.
So close to "y'all can't behave"
In all but name.

It's the white feminazi version of it.

Yeah, if I was on that boat it would be "club seal, push clubbed seal into water, GTFO"
It's Misogony 2.

YOU DRIVE THE BOAT AWAY WITH YOUR BRAND NEW SEAL BUDDY AND SAVE HIS LIFE, DUMBASS
Or, appropriate some native culture and club it.
I didn't know Newfies were natives....

Lol you couldn't pay me to shoo that poor fucker to his doom.
Yea seriously. Just chill the fuck out for a minute when the orcas get distant dip out and drop your buddy off somewhere safe
The fuck even is "misogyny" anyway? It's a word as meaningless as "problematic."
