Vice spreads medical misinfo on Twitter, claims “no such thing as natural immunity” (twitter.com)

The vice article says "there's no such thing as natural immunity." If you read the article what they "mean" by natural immunity based on context is "immunity from a disease you have never been exposed to," which of course is not what ANYONE means by "natural immunity."

It's actually more insidious than just VICE lying; they are trying to redefine the term "natural immunity" to something ridiculous which makes it more difficult to discuss actual natural immunity.

Journalists are devils.

immunity from a disease you have never been exposed to

Actually, there is such a thing as exactly this. If you have a working immune system and are in good health, you won't get sick with viruses even if you have never been exposed to them.

That's innate immunity. And while it is natural calling it "natural immunity" is just muddying the water even more. When the vast majority of people say "natural immunity" they mean "natural adaptive immunity".

There's 2 different meanings of natural immunity being used:

  1. People who have already recovered from covid, thus have the specific covid antibodies already in them. They have no use for a vaccine, because the whole point of vaccines is to give uninfected the protection a previously infected person has. These people should be included in vax passes & all other rules for the fully vax'd if they were at all based on science.

  2. The concept of the natural immune system, ie the thing that gave the people in #1 their immunity. The immune system not only protects you from the diseases it already knows about, but is designed to ID and fight new ones ie "disease you have never been exposed to". It's what we had for the millions of years before vaccines were invented. People with a working immune system and in good health may get sick from the virus if exposed but should recover without hospitalization or minimum medical intervention. Some won't even know they ever had covid or would confuse it with a mild flu.

Either way, VICE is retarded.

Almost everyone I know who got tested for covid has tested positive. About half of them never had a single symptom. Which means either:

  1. Innate immunity to COVID-19 is real or
  2. The tests were wrong and the case numbers cannot be trusted

Which is it, journalists? Pick one.

I have innate immunity to covid 19 and I never contracted the disease yet I was around those that did and never got as much as sniffles.

But if you had the jab you wouldn't even have had the sniffles! /s

Yes I get your point my lack of sniffles would be reduced to less sever no sniffles symptoms. Very astute observation. hehe.

This is from acquired crossimmunity from previous coronaviruses. We get inundated with them every cold and flu season. It's why most don't get sick or get mild sickness from covid19.

I don't know what happened but I have seen many scientists saying that peoples immune systems past experience of dealing with other corona viruses of which there are several in common circulation may protect them to some degree.

The sea is full of viruses - in fact the reason the sea is so lovely and clean and not a disgusting bacteria soup is that at any moment bacterio-phages are destroying a significant portion of the bacteria in the ocean and making them spew their nourishing innards to be used by other organisms.

Viruses affect all 3 branches of the tree of life equally. Meaning that in all likelihood viruses have been on earth as long as lifes universal common ancestor (LUCA) has. In fact some think that maybe viruses came first and are some left over of the more primitive forms of life that have long since gone extinct due to the more sophisticated life forms that inhabit the earth today.

WTF..how could you have survived without a vaccination for those diseases??? This must be misinformation, this post simply does not make sense- only vaccines let you survive illness.

Your immune systems T-cells form a long term memory. Any future contact with these viruses will cause your CD8 "Killer" T-cells to go on a rampage and immediately BTFO any of these viruses which enter your body.

Most of us will be exposed to them throughout life which acts as a natural booster. I had chickenpox as a kid. I was likely exposed again from younger kids in school when there was an outbreak and at various times as people I know have school aged kids which themselves get it and expose you. You then become a parent - get exposed from your kids numerous times. Then probably get exposed again as a grandparent.

Did some testing on my sister when she was was prego and turns out she is immune to measles, rubela and mumps. I am immune to chicken pox. Never had them when I was exposed to them.

This is pure bullshit, natural immunity is not only real it is more effective than the vaccine. They just look for what lies they can get away with anymore to push ideologues.

I remember last year, early in the "pandemic", Fauci and Co were saying, "once we vaccinate 60-70% of the population, combined with natural immunity, we will have reached herd immunity."

Now that don't even mention herd immunity lol

But is the correct, approved misinformation, same as with the Russia Collusion. Is the facts like the virus originating from Wuhan or Hunters laptop that need to be censored.

I know everyone who works at vice has a room temp IQ and lives off iced coffee, frozen burritos from their local bodega (we only have those in Brooklyn*,) and two buck chuck but you'd think someone would have a moment of critical thought in between "straight men need to shove cactus' in their ass to avoid homophobia" articles.

When millions of people live to be eighty years old and have survived every cold and flu they've ever had...that's not fucking luck.

Of course it is going to be over next year, it has to be out of the news by around June for the midterm elections.

Why would they want it over? It's only going to be worse so they can justify more mail-in ballots which will help them ensure the election's integrity has been sufficiently fortified
