I'm not so sure that the issue is left vs right. Once you cut past the identity politics, which undoubtedly exist on both sides, the truth is that we have more in common than not. From what I've observed the non idpol, anti-establishment left and new right all see many of the same problems in society and ultimately want a lot of the same things, just radically differ on the solutions.

The identity politics we see today were instituted during OWS because people were starting to become united across the political spectrum against the corrupt elites.

How do you know that these aren't Christian Afgahns? I'd be willing to bet at least some are.

I've tried that, it doesn't work. They just clap back with some bullshit about not ignoring the struggles of blacks and women here just because some have it worse across the world or that they can focus on more than one injustice at a time.

Of course they never actually speak out against these other cultures, that may be seen as racist and culturally insensitive in their circles.

This is from acquired crossimmunity from previous coronaviruses. We get inundated with them every cold and flu season. It's why most don't get sick or get mild sickness from covid19.
