potentially ordering a dangerous military strike or launching nuclear weapons

Rofl, what?

A Military strike? Nukes? Against WHO?

WHERE!?

How is it possible that that US military General has Trump Derangement Syndrome to the point that they honestly believe this could have been something on Trump's mind?

God, this tells me that Milley is nothing more than a useful idiot who's been successfully brainwashed by the democrat mainstream media machine.

In fairness, this could be utter bullshit from Woodward.

The military is compromised. Generals and admirals are political faggots.

This piece of crap deserves to spend the rest of his days in Leavenworth.

If He were to be executed for treason then He'd still spent the rest of His life in prison. Just not as long as he might have otherwise.

Guantanomo Bay if he's not executed.

The memo had been secretly drafted by two Trump loyalists. No one on the national security team knew about it, according to the book. The memo was eventually nullified, but Milley could not forget that Trump had done an end run around his top military advisers.

He knows what advisors are, right?

... General Milley does know that in the US, the military works for the government and not the other way around, does he?

I mean, if this story is correct, Trump should have been cutting out a Pentagon willing to conduct a coup out of the loop more often, not less.

Regarding "memos": maybe I'm just unobservant and didn't notice this shit before roughly 2016, but at what point did "I totally wrote it down so it must be true" become admissable evidence? It feels like this retarded nonsense was "spontaneously" normalized just in time for leftists to constantly make up a bunch of shit about Trump, and now "muh memos" are just an accepted thing. Why the fuck does anyone believe in or abide by this? It's no different than "sources say", except the source is a piece of fucking paper you scribbled on.

In this instance, people are reportedly willing to testify to their direct exposure, so the "memo" won't be the sole evidence. But fuck am I tired of hearing this term.

Yeah, this seems a lot like Woodward spinning some bullshit so Leftists can say on Reddit "AKSHULLY, Trump tried to withdraw troops early on January 15th, so the same thing would have happened to Trump as what happened to Biden."

I think I might want to look into Watergate again to doublecheck his work.

My only question here is how much of this is bullshit by Woodward that he made up, because it's not the first time.

A lot of this reads as bullshit: poopy pants Trump can't control his temper so he wants to attack Iran and seize control of nuclear weapons.

Given the fact that Trump openly refused to attack Iran despite multiple justifiable reasons to do so (even his assassination of Solemani was in Iraq), I don't buy a lot of this.

It's honestly difficult to say. A lot of it reads like hand-waving justifications to, from what I can tell, conduct a coup d'etat against the Trump administration.

Even if they did nothing with it, that's not exactly a great precedent to set, is it?

What if he wins again in 2024? Is the Pentagon just going to turn around to the US population and say "Wrong answer, try again"?

I hope the answer is no.

I hope so too, but let's posit some hypotheticals:

  • The 2024 election is won by either Trump or deSantis. Some populist type that the DNC hates rather than some tame lapdog who's content to take the "best loser" paycheck.
  • The outgoing Harris administration uncovers evidence of massive fraud in key swing states. It's conveniently left out of all of the reporting who was conducting the fraud, or for whom it was being conducted.
  • Gen. Mark Milley (or his replacement) announces that US military forces will remain under the command of President Harris until such time as the irregularities can be resolved, by new elections if necessary. It's necessary for the chain of command to be legitimate and to be seen to be legitimate, you see.

I can't point to any one of those and go "Nahh, never happen"

I can't consider that as impossible either.

I would apply the 48 hour rule to this one - I do not trust Woodward, and this feels a lot like telling liberals what they want to hear.

But it also sounds plausible.

Either way it's terrible, either a general is admitting to literal treason or is telling a very tall tale, but is expecting to be praised for this. He thinks this makes him a hero.

It would really be fucking nice if the left ever thought about the long term consequences of celebrating disloyal 'resistance' fighters in the highest positions of leadership in our country. This makes our government, the men with their hands on our nukes, look like a bunch of chickenshit idiots.

Looks like the "informing the public" phase of legally dealing with a Belligerent Occupying Power has begun. I expect things to start escalating rapidly now.

The argument would boil down to whether we were in a declared war or if that was even necessary given how wars are conducted and we were at war at the time...
