It's funny.

The solution offered is ridiculously, insanely, comically evil in how disporportionately severe it is, but he's not even a little bit wrong in his identification of the poison.

But on the other hand, comically evil severity is probably the quickest way to ensure compliance, and in turn minimize harm.

It's true.

I suspect the reality is that very few persons will actually be punished, and the death penalty restricted to only the most prolific smugglers - just enough to send the message and let fear dissuade the rest.

Of course, that in itself is utterly tyrannical, but it is less evil in practice than it is on paper.

Probably correct. Not that I condone capital punishment for minor offences, but I'm not sure that 10 deaths vs. 10,000 man-years of imprisonment or slavery is a more immoral position.

NK is a pretty strange animal, though. Enforcing strictness in one area wouldn't translate well unless there was a psychological establishment of compliance cultivated over generations. It's use is to view one potential extreme, not to emulate. Still, it's worth studying.

God, this is exactly like the devil saying "Feminism is cancer." Dude. Fuck.

The difference is, the devil would be all smug and proud about it because he invented it.

I think both K-Pop and Rap have been cancerous to our discourse and creativity.

That’s probably not a popular opinion to throw out nowadays, but as a mostly musically illiterate person, I miss the Pop & Rock culture of the past.

BRB, going to listen to “Dancing Queen” again.

J-idol is reportedly worse, as the catering to retards gives fuel to regressive leftist scumbags.

What the j-idol labels do is pretty much the opposite of what companies who cater to the regressive left do.

K-Pop artist have wished death onto other countries in the past, and their fan base is one of the most toxic in the world, transcending nations and fandoms in the sludge of woke/cancel culture.

I have infinitely less respect for K-Pop because of that.

Is that why "k-pop stan" gets abused allot?

Do you know why I was downvoted for mentioning the j-idol controversy?

Yep, because most K-Pop fans online hate and demonize other fandoms while being equally bad or worse.

Gee, I wonder if "they" will make movies like Footloose out of this, and repeatedly show the same old Korean man with his pickup talking about how evil rocknro ... kpop and comic boo .... "manga" are ...

This is just the bad times side of the bad times strong men cycle laughing at the weak man part of cycle. It'd be nice if someone figured out how to have good times and strong men- which sounds kinda gay out of context.
