I am absolutely gobsmacked at the thought of a Black...held accountable

According to the left the very concept of treating blacks like people who have control over their actions and can therefore be held responsible for their behavior is racist.

Treating blacks like human beings is racist.

As John McWhorter said: "There is a mentality of: 'the monkey doesn't really know what it's doing'".

Alright, I'll take the bait.

That's stupid. If you accept the premise that all or most Africans are incompatible with society, (not necessarily true, but for the sake of this argument, I will) then the most humane thing would be voluntary relocation to Africa or some other place.

Keeping them as slaves is pointless in the modern age. Besides the economic uselessness in the age of automation, it just reignites racial resentment, which solves nothing in the long run, and it is unnecessarily cruel.

Slavery was always economically useless, in that it decreased the total output of a given population. The reason it was nonetheless practiced is because it served as a wealth transfer from less powerful people to more powerful people.

This is also the reason for collectivization in the Soviet Union and China under Mao - the extraction of an agricultural surplus which it was supposed to generate, in order to get foreign currency which would then be used for the purchase of capital goods from capitalist pigs.

But of course, just as slaves, peasants will work less hard when they can keep 0% of what they produce, so collectivization turned the USSR - with some of the most fertile lands in the world - into a grain importer. Same for China, where people were dying from hunger as late as 1976.

It sure wasn't economically useless to the J's that did most of the slavery.

Impressive scapegoating, but I'd recommend doing a better job at reading. Slavery is 'profitable' for the owners, as it transfers income from the slaves to the slaveholders, but not for the society as a whole, as there is a net loss of production due to people not working when someone else profits from it.

Not disagreeing that slavery was very bad for society economically. Just stating that it was successful in making the corrupt all the wealthier.

Slavery was a terrible idea. It wasn't even economically beneficial; it just socialized the cost of labor.

At what point to we need to enslave and whip you into not being a resentful little shit? It's not like you're going to exist in civilized society any better than the worst of them.

There's no point in enslaving this guy, as I am pretty sure he's a drain on society as it is.

Well, if he believes in the value & benefits of slavery, perhaps enslaving him can teach him to become civilized. Where would savages like him be without the civilizing effects of slavery?

So this 17-year-old "kid" looted from a shoe store, and Slate blames it on... *drumroll* SWAVEWY!

And let's see if the shoe store can be blamed for not genuflecting enough to BBBlacks. Apparently, looting is presumptively justified.

Who owns this shoe store? Do they treat Black customers well? Hire Black employees and treat them well? Were these shoes made ethically or in a sweatshop somewhere? Have you heard anything that implies that this shoe store doesn’t have insurance that will allow it to recover, unlike the people whose deaths led to this uprising, and those who have died while it is taking place? And are … you … OK? Did you not take the time to read about the, y’know, 400 years of oppression that have led kids like your son to steal shoes?

And

This botched experiment of a nation owes your son so much more than a pair of sneakers.

You're born owed something because you're black. Let's not talk about who owes whom reparations if we're going to get into the business of race-based reparations. I am pretty sure vast amounts of reparations would be due from one group to all the others, for the astonishingly high rates of rape, murder, and drug dealing.

▲ 28 ▼

Who owns this shoe store quote

Are we expected to believe that the son performed some kind of woke check before looting the place?

Also "Have you heard anything that implies that this shoe store doesn’t have insurance that will allow it to recover" ... congratulations, your son just made that insurance more expensive. When's the bit where your son pays for the costs he has wilfully inflicted upon others?

Fundamentally, though, it's racist reasoning. A white person did something unjustified to a black person, therefore all black people get to do whatever they like to any white person.

Insurance is like gambling at the casino, the house dictates the rules and they're designed that the house always comes out ahead overall.

That one store may not pay for everything immediately. But everything will be paid for by the stores in the end.

The best part is that this also actively helps big corporations to destroy small businesses because the corporations can afford to pay the premiums in the moment but not all small businesses can. Eventually after the competition is dead, quasi monopolistic market will reap all the benefits.

They don't even understand what money is, they think it's a commodity. How on Earth can we expect them to understand the concept of insurance when they are that economically illiterate.

If you think money is a commodity, and value is objective, then your concept of insurance must be fucking hilariously retarded.

Everyone knows that America became most powerful in the 1800's when we couldn't go from one city to the other without shitting ourselves to death, off the back of a few states having a decent cash flow, rather than in the years after WW2 when a new industrial revolution occurred while most major countries were busy figuring out what bits of rubble were corpses and what bits of rubble was just the rest of the city, and all America suffered was a bombed base some fires and hundreds of thousands of dead men.

And, you always have to remember that initially US had no trouble dealing with the Nazis by supplying them with steel and trucks and whatnot. So not only did US suffer the least losses, they activaly profitted off the Nazis too.

If a lie works they'll just keep using it huh? "Insurance! It's for the dead!" No need to consider the fact that thousands of businesses' insurances explicitly don't cover the actual costs riot damage or anything, it's a good enough excuse to make people stop questioning you long enough to get away with it. Or how the fuck someone dying justifies someone completely unrelated to getting to steal some shit from another completely unrelated business.

The absolute glee some people have in tearing down anyone's attempts to teach their kids responsibility is pure cancer.

"It's OK to steal something if the store has insurance" is the stupidest argument I've ever heard. If the person's car was stolen, I'm sure they'd feel differently, even if it were insured.

And over-priced goods of any kind that serve as status symbols. That is also part of the reason for the 'racial wealth gap' they are always screaming about. When blacks, on average, buy more expensive cars and 'bling', it would not be a surprise to anyone but the biggest SJW idiots that they would have less wealth.

This is also true for second generation immigrants in Europe. The first generation is generally frugal and austere, but the second generation just loves expensive things.

I am absolutely gobsmacked at the thought of a Black man wanting to have his Black child held accountable for (possibly) stealing a pair of fucking gym shoes by an institution that would likely fail to hold one of their own officers accountable if they’d killed you or one of your children.

To a radical leftist nitwit, this might seem like a clear example of an obvious double standard that exposes the moral failure and therefore illegitimacy of the police force.

To anyone else, however, the difference between the two situations is obvious:

A police officer is employed by the state in a role that, at times, WILL necessitate the use of physical force. This is an inevitability as someone who enforces the law, no matter where in the world you are, and no matter what that law is.

Police officers must perform a task that the rest of the population is given the luxury (And it absolutely IS a luxury) of delegating to someone else. When they are found innocent of murder, manslaughter, etc, it does not mean that the police are untouchable in the courts and are allowed to go murdering. It means that they were found to have acted reasonably given the situation they were placed in by their job.
