I'm not sure anybody's concerned what Biden's position is. Whomever is using this as a lever to re-institute feudalism can probably keep this rumbling on for a couple of years with new variants if necessary, until Harris does what she's told. Or doesn't - resistance from Harris would be much more significant than Biden.

That's what I was thinking. If the feds tried to do it it would cost 200 million, five years and then not work. Google could do it over a weekend and for "free."

This. It's like they don't need to block free speech because corporations, like Google and Twitter, will block it for them.

It'll be a flipflop move. They'll pretend to hold off for ages, fake a Spike, then say "sorry folks we tried without but we have to now."...

That. Or they're going to refuse it hoping enough sheep demand their own collars. After all an idea thought up by yourself is usually more readily accepted than one forced.

The government shut down all of big buisness's competition. Now the private sector will return the favor by implementing the passport system while absorbing the flak for it. Welcome to techno-fascism.

Perhaps they thought it would cause too much of a rise against them? They don't want people fighting the government, but fighting each other. That's why masks are perfect, you can immediately form an opinion on someone based on their mask status and one group in particular thinks the other is trying to kill them.

Let's not pretend they needed the passports to track you, they can already do that. I was expecting them to morph into a China-like app system where they use the vaccine app to tell you if you're allowed to do anything or not. I'm more expecting vaccine-proof variant scare to hit instead. Extend the control a little longer.

I believe the end game is the Mark of the Beast. That is rooted in my belief that Christian prophecy is true, and also that the natural state of humanity is to accept conformity and being ruled.

To quote an anon from long ago: "I don't want to be free, I just want to be happy."

They know it's a slippery slope kind of argument. If they start requiring vaccine passports then that means they will also require a full Federal ID card - which they don't want, until they can push it through to allow illegals and migrants to get the IDs, and to make it free for everyone to get one.

On top of that, they know if they try to pull a Federal mandate on this shit then the half of the general populace that has a brain in their head will throw an absolute shit-fit over the constitutionality of it. No, what they'll do is let the private sector horn in on it and be the bad guy. Want to fly on Airline X? Want to be admitted to Venue Y for an event? Better have your GoogleSoft Certified Health Passport ready to make sure you don't infect anyone or get infected. Don't want to participate in having to sign away access to your private health information? Then no flights or admission for you - and because it's a private business they'll lean on the whole "they can do what they want" pole, because in this case it's a thing they want the business to be able to do to us.

This shit is only going to get worse before it gets better.

Psaki added on Tuesday, as she has before, that the decision to employ vaccination credentials would be left to nongovernmental entities.

If the Democrats instate vaccine passports at a government level, it will end up going to the Supreme Court where the result may be a major blow to the whole idea. If they instead use the "private company" apparatus of the party it will be much more difficult to challenge.

There will still be vaccine passports. There will still be vaccine mandates. Some states may manage to stop that from happening in their state, but they are likely to be punished by the federal government and "private companies" because of it.

Its a feint. It cannot be called unconstitutional if it comes from the corporations not the feds. Sidesteps the constitution (or perverts it, depending on your perspective) and makes the government immune to any blame over it while leaving them a permanent GOOJF card down the road if they ever mandate against it, even by a small degree.

Bottom line, they don't have to make it law to make it "law".

There's no law that says you need to drive a car. But if you work on the other side of town and there are no busses, you're going to have a tough time getting to work without a car.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's just testing the waters, squeezing to see how much they can get away with. Notice that this is all moving in one direction. The lockdown meant we lost rights, but illegal (and legal) immigration is unhindered. They're talking about you needing a vaccine passport to go to work/get groceries, but Jose and the gang can come here illegally all day.
