Yeah, I already saw Door Kickers, but am on the edge about it. Probably because it doesn't use grids. Not really sure.
Xenonauts looks really great though. Will "demo" it for a few hours and then probably bite the bullet.
And I will definitely go for Othercide after your recommendation.
Thanks for the input!
Gonna use this thread to ask for some game recommendation.
I'm looking for a squad based tactical (rpg?) game. Ideally in a modern/sf setting.
So basically something like Jagged Alliance 2 or X-COM.
Obviously played those, played Gears Tactics, Phoenix Point, Hard West and Phantom Doctrine (didn't like the last one).
I have Othercide on my list. Any other recommendations?
@1:13 "It's a public venue".
No, a supermarket is a private venue. That's the reason why everyone says people can deny you service for not wearing a mask... And thus you cannot say shit to other people inside that private venue. If they don't want an unmasked customer inside, then you can inform security and then leave, because it's not your job (contrary to what you say) to harass other people.
A big problem with our European (I'm German) laws it that they are made for European citizens with European values.
If I would've stolen something as a child or did something similar stupid I would've been punished by my family more than by law. My grandma used to say "What should people think?" if I weren't on my best behaviour. Community pressure was also a thing.
Basically society believed that family & community would correct the behaviour and the law doesn't need to be as strict.
Now certain other cultures enter Europe. Do you think a Afghan's family does give two fucks if their child steals from a German? No, they don't care. They often encourage it.
Suddenly there is no longer a self correcting presence. Thus the laws horribly fail and are no longer adequate.
Back home? Lost a hand when caught stealing. Germany? Stern talking. After the 50th incident maybe a small 20h community work. Prison for stealing? Almost never. At least not for people under 25.
And thus our countries get fucked and degenerate over time.
Same here in Germany.
Before a certain group came here things like rape were usually from "someone the victim knows". That changed. Now the perpetrator is not someone the victim knows. It happens randomly.
Also small altercations turn violent way more often and the level of violence has increased. When the loser falls to the ground a group swarms and kicks them while they're down. Knifes are more common.
Our hospitals changed. Walk-in emergency admission now has security.
Because a certain group of people is not capable of understanding triage. "Oh you have constipation for 3 days? And now at 11pm you think it's time to go to see a doctor, and since everyone is closed you come to a hospital? Yeah, you might have to wait a few hours for that, because we have more critical cases".
"NO MY MOTHER NEEDS ATTENTION NOW!" and family members start verbal fights with nurses and threaten them.
Country is going to the shitters.
In my family it's an old "recipe" when having a stomach flu to eat salted pretzel sticks and drink coke.
Basically it's easily digestible and has minerals (salt) and sugar (coke) in it.
It also is an easy excuse to eat unhealthy things ;)
Last weekend I had the such a stomach flu while visiting my parents.
It was time for salted pretzel sticks and tea with sugar. No more coke for me, because I'm probably "too white" as a German.
Use 10minutemail.com/ when you need a burner email.
You will never be able to recover your account, but honestly who cares. You should delete your average social media accounts like on reddit every 1-2 years anyway to make doxxing more difficult.
Austria number is wrong. It takes the firearm-related death rate (2.75) and puts it as homicide rate. The suicide rate though is the biggest part of the death rate (2.44). Homicide is 0.1. Undetermined 0.11, so we're looking at most at a homicide rate of 0.21.
By now almost everyone proboably has heard from the Twitch leak that happened yesterday.
Even a person of undefined gender over at Kotaku saw it scrolling through their mentions while wondering what to complain about next. So obviously they wrote an article about it.
Of course it wasn't about the lack of security of twitch. Or their shitty coding standards, like hardcoding server credentials (and uploading them to their git (link stolen from reddit LSF)).
Or their lack of response by not notifying their users by mail that their userdata might have been compromised.
No. It's about that only 3 women are in the top 100 of earners. And only 1 female PoC.
Which can only lead to one conclusion: "Twitch has not done enough to support women and other marginalized streamers on its platform."
