Which is funny because spatial thinking seems to be where women struggle the most when driving. If you ever see a car not going with the flow of traffic and kinda sitting in no-man's land being passed on both sides...

...it's usually a woman in my experience. Or someone on the phone. Phones are the worst, too.

Every single bit of this "controversy" could have been avoided if "experts" didn't rush to make judgments and statements.

"Based on the wealth of data we have in the past century since the Spanish Flu pandemic, especially on mask-wearing in Southeast Asia and its effect on seasonal respiratory illnesses, it's unlikely masks will have a dramatic effect on transmission.

Still, we'll continue to do research on their efficacy on this virus and this illness. We encourage people to do what they feel makes them safe. We will continue to update recommendations as they meet empirical results. Thank you."

I just don't know how they fucked it up so bad. They torched their credibility and then stood slack-jawed as people refused to believe them.

Man, I dunno about all THAT, but this current Pope and how he came to be pope is bizarre.

I don't think there is a global conspiracy - but god damn, a living pope resigning just so they could usher in this globalist piece of shit - it makes you think.

Thankfully the Japanese don't give a single fuck what Westerners think when it comes to what happens in Japan.

Japan is wonderfully weird - and the Japanese cultural monolith is still far too strong to be troubled by progressive "diversity" concerns.

It's because the most hardcore lefties project all of their insecurities and failings on other people.

You feel disgusting because the brainwashed masses accuse you every day of doing what they do.

I live in a "red" state but a metro area so it skews bluer. I think most of my local radio is mildly based or successfully keeps politics out of it.

There's one guy in the afternoon, however, who is a total soyboy cuck. Any given day he talks about how his wife is the breadwinner in the family, how we can "save the world" by wearing masks and following the rules, etc...

Cringey.

I think you're more or less close to hitting the nail on the head. There are legitimate people who want to express themselves differently -- and I'm a big proponent of expressing yourself any way that you want to.

Doesn't mean I like a given expression or agree with a given expression, but it's just NOT my place to comment.

But the number of creepy, mentally disturbed people who use the label as a shield is out of control. Elsewhere I've seen some suggest that there are people who don't even attempt to "pass" that get off on forcing people to bow down to their shitty illusion. These are almost 100% child abusing fucks who should be buried under the prison.

It's also impossible to understand. By design.

Black Redneck Culture -- you're correct, I couldn't find the term in my brain.

I also like Black Cracker Culture. Not that you'll ever have a leftist interested enough in what you're saying to take it seriously -- you could really activate some almonds with that.

thepalagoon 13 points ago +13 / -0

I really like Thomas Sowell's description of black culture as "Black Hillbilly Culture."

Rural whites figured out quickly that their way forward was to not sound like an uneducated idiot, whereas mainstream black America, the media, and academia have seized on these mannerisms of speech and decided they, in part, define what it means to be Black.

Clown world.

I have to say, I think this is mostly a nothingburger. There are legitimate times when the left tries to change the meaning of words -- one of the dictionaries did this recently with Vaccine to include whatever gene therapy cocktail you'd call the current "vaccines."

This example is far less insidious imo - even I'm guilty of using the word "quarantine" or "lockdown" to refer to what is going on in places like California... which is still shades less insane than Ontario, parts of Europe, and ANYTHING CHINA DOES.

Still good to stay on top of the changes, however, because the left does try to change the meaning of words to fit their political agenda.

California is literally moving in this direction, instructing teacher to "deconstruct white supremacy in math."

I'm not even joking: https://equitablemath.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2020/11/1_STRIDE1.pdf

That's the saddest shit of all.

Government and media working together to demonize every group that might not go along with Building Back Better... sounds oddly reminiscent of some times in history.

I see the same things, brother. It sounds like I'm a little younger than you, but I have my wife and we're hoping to start a family soon.

She's from a third world country, but she pulled her ass UP and got her phD and made it to America (without any help from me!) - she's just happy to be here, though. It's still the land of opportunity to her.

To me, I see what you see. I'm scared for me, I'm scared for her, and I'm scared for my future family. I don't trust ANYTHING the government says anymore -- I trust Trump because he's a blowhard but he isn't super good at just lying straight to your face like other politicians (he may get stuff wrong or exaggerate, but... you get my point and let's not make this about him).

That's why we have to fight. I have the belief there are more of us than there are of them. I believe in people - take the time to get outside of the liberal bubbles and you'll start to believe in people again.

I think I might go back to school -- even though I left almost a decade ago because academia is full of liberal idiots -- I'm more tempered now and ready to fight it from inside. Gonna look into getting involved in local politics and volunteering to help children in need (fatherless boys!) too. Anything.

We cannot give up. That's what they want.

To that point - what power would... say, Stacey Abrams have if she was just a nobody "organizer" in the Independent State of Georgia (...the... North American independent Georgia), lording power over Atlanta?

The problem is cities can dominate entire states to swing electoral votes in presidential elections -- they'd have a lot less sway if they were forced to allocate state legislature votes Great Compromise style. In fact, they'd never get their way again.

thepalagoon 1 point ago +1 / -0

The pendulum will swing back, that is 100% for sure.

This isn't a conflict between Christianity and Islam (though for a long time it was assumed that's where the conflict is). Islam is too far up its own ass to ever be anything important - once the oil is gone or starts to lose value it's over in the world of Islam.

(Quick note: Europe is still fucked - you can't bring in people who breed like rabbits and don't want to assimilate and have that work out well for your culture, but I don't think we're going to see a new European caliphate any time soon)

The conflict is again (as it has been for at least a few centuries) between freedom and authoritarianism. I still believe the core of America and the core of western ideals are stronger and will win out, but it's likely going to need to get worse before it gets better, just to have people moved into actual action.

You're misunderstanding. He's probably saying the white people are the monkey and black people are the fish.

I literally heard this same analogy when I was in graduate school in SJW studies (don't worry, long since recovered - that experience was an expensive red pill) -- the problem is, we're not comparing monkeys to fish. We're comparing humans to humans.

The big overall message is that "everyone has their strengths" but we need a baseline of proficiency for HUMANS on basic skills needed to survive and thrive in the world.

28
thepalagoon 28 points ago +28 / -0

This is the absolute scariest thing.

The amount of indoctrination in people is sickening. People in my loose circle who don't understand the importance of freedom and don't understand that you can't make exceptions to that for "safety" or "security" -- an inherently free society is a little less safe and secure -- that's the price of freedom.

We're headed down a dark path. I don't say that as a doomer, I say that because I really thought -- outside of all the Trump Derangement Syndrome -- that we were all Americans and valued the foundations of our Republic.

"We" don't, and half the country (or at least a vocal minority + the federal government) is ready to tear it all down.

19
thepalagoon 19 points ago +19 / -0

The similarity between this schizoaffective word salad and "academic" postmodernist writing is alarming.

Using words they don't understand? Check.

Using simple nonsense words (badness) because they don't fully understand what they're talking about and want to sound smart? Check.

Either way, advocating a dangerous over-regulation of something that doesn't need regulation and oversight? Check.

God we're headed in a bad direction.

thepalagoon 7 points ago +7 / -0

Oh, of course! You're not wrong -- the biology of humanity is completely screwed up -- we're chopping off our genitals!

My wonder is: how do we go back? The cat is out of the bag. It's only going to stuffed back in through inevitable catastrophic failure.

Yo, OP, I know you're here watching comments. I can feel your frustration in your other comments. The fact is - there's nothing you or I can do to change the fact two entire generations have been destroyed by being raised in a non-family unit.

This made them susceptible to the bullshit spewed.

Now they're all CONSOOming... sorry to borrow a meme, but it's true. They've successfully legalized prostitution without worrying about the messy fallout of rape. Less risk exposure, more profit, and a more docile population.

There's nothing we can do at this point. The world has been turned upside down on its head. We should all keep working and advocating for a better world, but it's gonna get worse before it gets better, I'm afraid.

thepalagoon 15 points ago +15 / -0

It's too little and it's too late. The rabid dog is off the leash.

The elites no longer care what you think. They've brow-beaten everyone who dares question the illegal law changes made in the leadup to the 2020 election. You aren't allowed to question that Joe Biden is the most popular president ever elected.

Forget the fact no one likes him. Forget the fact that every video he's ever in gets ratioed and made fun of incessantly to the point Youtube is now just not going to show dislikes anymore. Forget the fact he had to withdraw from a presidential election 30 years ago for plagiarism. Forget the fact he's clearly not right in the head.

None of it matters. They don't care. You'll never get true answers on the 2020 election. You'll never get a real picture of public opinion in the USA again.

It's all really fucked right now, and the powers that be don't care about your opinion.

I don't know of anyone referring to Obama as a communist seriously. He was, however, a disastrous president for the stability and prosperity of America. He DID start sowing the seeds of division that we see sprouting now.

I think myself and a lot of other people who frequent(ed) T_D and now Patriots and KiA see the writing on the wall that tension and acrimony is growing across the US, largely independent of our ability to curtail it. That tension is going to be released somewhere.

I dunno if it was THE PLAN so to speak, but I think the Left wanted 1/6/21 to be bigger and closer to the releasing of tension, so they could immediately crack down and lock it down.

It didn't work. We're still on a course headed somewhere bad. I don't know if there's any stopping it at this point, either.
