If anyone is not thinking of the kids (Or indeed is, but not in the way that is allowed legally) it is this leader of the UK. Optics alone dictate that we drop these sanctions to invade personal privacy when it has been shown that the problems here are at the systemic level and not at ground level.

If the UK government were to insist that all of those 'deleted' WhatsApp messages sent and received during the covid calamity were resurfaced and investigated I could perhaps see room for this to continue. But*, as is, the only proven criminals here are the government.
