They thought to create an economic warzone they could control, but like all bureaucrats and corporations run by the stupid and greedy, they cut corners. Energy self-sufficiency is the keystone to controlling your own war efforts.

Pretty obvious to anyone on the side cutting corners has little to do with it, though.

twitter just wasn't worth more than Elon's offer to them.

I can't see how control of speech in a massive chunk of the western world's defacto public square would not be worth 50 billion to them.

Why? Feels perfectly obvious to me that blackrocks of the world have long learned that "public opinion" is not worth spending too much to control. Especially if the control mechanism is twitter level of basic.

In fact, the image of twitter being sold for 50 billion is still comical to me.

OTH I can bet you TikTok can't be sold even for 500 billion.

Is there any source for this being information being released by the FSB?

Does appearing on state media qualify?

To me, it just looks like something a random idiot on Twitter made up.

Welcome to Russia.

April 1 and April 2

https://t.me/News380/7944

That's one of the very first videos recorded, surprise! Even the "characters" we saw later on are present.

By night into April 2nd we had photos like this (which are obviously made the day before at the latest):

https://t.me/News380/7963

And by evening of April 2 we had mainstream media get on the case, let bing/yandex/whoever be with you. (EDIT: if you are lazy, I can link you that one as well).

Frankly, I don't even find it necessary to defend Russian soldiers here, because they never hid how much of literal Orcs they are. But I do find it important to point out that specific of this war is that basically all the stuff that happens ends up first on Telegram, and Russian propaganda has eaten multiple embarassments to that in last few years.

I am kinda disappointed in Russian propaganda (and people over at kia2 that buy it, don't jump from the 10th floor because globohomo said it's unhealthy). Couldn't they find better counter claims than that?

The first bodies are dated the same day that announcement from major was published about town getting liberated on 31st (yes, that video was published on 1st of April, surprise!). The material of this "video" people claim was done on 3rd was already photoed by globohomo media and published all over the world on 2nd of April.

I mean, the sheer wokefest of it makes me glad we found a way to remove all dialogue in a day.

Because there are parts of it I am glad to like, and since I am impossible to buy this game, I am not worried about supporting woke BS Gearbox spews.

Back to pre-sanction value

Pretty easy to do when you deliberately prevent anyone from actually exchanging rubles for dollars. Last I checked black market exchange rate was at least 15% higher.

That said, you are right, this thing does not really work in any term. Though prevention of manufacturing equipment imports does hit pretty hard, I already felt obvious after shocks.

Holy shit, Nabiullina got actually driven into that corner?

To be honest, it's an impressive attempt to spin it even for you.

Though I guess if you consider every female a single organism controlled by hive mind, that does logically contradict your seemingly very good opinion of your mother.

there's also no reason for us to be involved.

For US? Sure, I don't have much of opinion on whoever in US takes proper position that it is not their business. I do get annoyed when people pretend this position needs any justification and start looking for it.

there is no good side in this fight.

Correct, there is no good side in any fight, but worse side is pretty obvious from my side of the curtain. Though who knows, maybe I will get some actual inside info in a month.

The truth of the war is, Ukraine made the first step towards war and nobody seems interested in covering it.

Reminder that this war started in 2014. Admittedly, it also started with Ukraine making first steps to get away from Russia, but that only serves to remind us why every country on Russian border wants to have as little as possible to do with Russia.

The problem I have is that support for Ukraine is universal among my enemy, and just from that I know they are guilty of great evil

Well, Ukraine is truly guilty of great evil, it tried to get away from it's big abusive neighbour. Given your picture of the other side of Ukraine, it definitely qualifies in your worldview.

I mean, if they really went after officially acknowledged deaths, I am very surprised they found a whole 557 of them.

You mean it took a show of incompetence from what Putin considers his main rival on the stage for him to green flag a start of his own actions?

The whole “Russia is super failing, guys!” meme is nonsense.

Well, it is failing. Ukraine can't win, but neither can Russia.

And yeah, ruining your economy to preserve existing status quo is not a "victory".

Node Package Manager I presume, but everyone calls it npm because that's what it's called.

The point is that it is responsible for distribution of all the js libraries people end up using in the field, with infamously little moderation as to what packages it distributes, thus enabling bullshit like this (or the previous colors debacle).

lolfail9001 11 points ago +11 / -0

OTOH there is bright side to this: maybe a few more people will realise how stupid of concept NPM is.

lolfail9001 7 points ago +7 / -0

West is really working hard to make meme of "both sides are bad" into truth.

And for the record, I don't consider Vostok-1 that much of a milestone.

This is as retarded as "trust the plan" from Q where they thought "patriotic" American generals were just going to "shoot the lot" of the people who cheated in the election and install Trump as president instead of seizing control for themselves.

Half of leader changes in Russian history were coups, open or covert, with another half being coup attempts, so we do have a tradition of that unlike 'Muricans.

Of course there is not a chance in hell it would make things better but maybe whoever would end up coming out on top will have a little more brain, so they would not get worse.

Ukrainian leadership had the common sense to stay neutral

Define "neutral". If you think Russian imperial ambition can be negated by staying neutral, you are making the same mistake Zelenskiy did.

I agree that no fly zone is stupid though.

P. S. If you are scared of nuclear war, you are better off preparing some ways to annex or negate threat from Russian territories with nukes when Russia inevitably falls apart.
