I believe you about your wife. Women are not inherently evil or something like that. I'm not TheImp, or someone like him. When they are around people with better values, they can take on and assume those values as well.
The problem is that, when left to their own devices, women are (as unfortunate as it is) extremely predisposed towards that sort of "we should definitely give up all sorts of freedom so I can feel safe!" way of thinking. It's especially bad when we exist in a society full of indoctrinated weak ass men that espouse the same views, because then it makes it even easier for the average woman to feel validated in, and get caught up in that dangerous way (if you value freedom) of thinking, and that's exactly the world we live in right now.

Disney has shitted up Star Wars so horribly, but Andor (and probably Rogue One) are the two watchable things they have somehow produced. The character of Luthen Rael, in particular is amazing, and - if you haven't watched - you owe yourself a listen to his little "speech":
For context, Luthen is the man (seems pretty well off, so he could obviously just comply with the Empire, and continue to live a really privileged life) that is responsible for organizing the Rebellion. In that clip, he's asked by an informant (who's become disillusioned with what he is being asked to sacrifice to continue helping the Rebellion) what he is sacrificing for the cause.
So, anyhow - yeah, it's ok to use the shitbag left's cancel culture against them. These people need to be stopped, so that our children have a chance of living in a better world. The radical left has to go. They have to be driven out of positions of power they have entrenched themselves in.

We live in a free society. The only true way to prevent someone from having the opportunity of killing someone else would require an absolutely oppressive amount of control over everyone. Even protecting the president from a dedicated/determined (willing to die himself) attacker is extremely difficult.
You absolutely wouldn't want to live under a system in which the police actually had a high chance of being able to prevent such a determined murderer. I know I wouldn't want to, anyhow. What if your every day life was treated like going through the TSA to get on a flight? Dealing with that level of invasion feels disgusting/dehumanizing, and even that is still extremely porous, and ineffective.
This is honestly the biggest problem with allowing everyone (especially most women) an equal vote - there are an absolutely retarded amount of people who are willing to cast away a shockingly high amount of our freedom (not just theirs, but - more importantly - yours) so they can have that small illusion of being "safe". Look no further than what those stupid fucks were willing to give up (not just give up, but cheer on) to feel even a fleeting amount of safety from something as weak as COVID.
It goes back to that one Benjamin Franklin quote. It's one of those things where it'd debatable as to whether or not he actually said it, but God damn is it true:

I'd love nothing more than to believe otherwise, but it's just too hard to hope for. People thought the same thing about the previous midterms - "surely, people have wised up, and had enough of the left's utterly retarded and destructive policies...", and what happened there?
Their propaganda campaign will keep hammering away, Trump will probably slip up with some ill-advised tweets/comments, the left will spring some other bullshit "surprise" on him, or others on the right will do something dumb like bringing an abortion ban back into play (all of which the propaganda machine will amplify), and it's going to be razor thin again.
The left has just been given way too much free rein to indoctrinate the masses, to infest everything that controls the narrative for any election to ever feel "safe". Going to be very close.
It's also extremely foolish to disregard their "electioneering" mastery compared to the right.
I had this exact same thought soon after I heard about the idiot taking a shot at Trump.
Just to be clear, I don't think the Trump attempt was any sort of conspiracy, or anything more than: 1. The fucking left and their 24/7 cradle to grave indoctrination stuff caused this guy to snap. They wind him up for basically his entire life (from 12 years old he's only known the world in which the media and online is 100% rabid "Trump is HITLER!" propaganda for the left), he's under constant peer pressure at school and everywhere else, telling him how much of Nazi he and his side is (read the quote from his fellow students how, in most of these classes he was known as the only person on the right side of most arguments), and 2. DEI USSS woman had some shit tier people working on this.
That being said, they now have literally the fucking perfect "solution" for their Joe Biden problem dropped in their laps once again (just like COVID got them in last time). If they can get someone to make an attempt on Biden, either he dies or steps down, and then they have tech/media go absolutely WILD with, "See! Look how Trump's psycho base retaliated! The other thing I noticed while checking the YouTube “breaking news” tab on the PS5 YouTube app is that every single mainstream news channel uses a thumbnail where they try to make him look as old, weak as possible, whereas the actual shooting has the guy clenching his fist, and supposedly yelling afterwards.
They will do everything they can to spin, control, and minimize this.
Frankly, the Chinese are probably copypasta-ing the entire Soviet propaganda scheme, even down to using the same left-wing rags and student protests. The entire "Green Energy" movement exists to inflate demand for chinese lithium mines. China is exploiting the fuck out of it's rare-earth mineral mines, and they are trying to colonize mines in Africa with the belt and road initiative, while using Californians to increase their demand; all while banning Americans from using non-green power sources, and developing competing mines.
Why wouldn't they? It works.
Look at what allowing the radical left to run rampant, and "march through the institutions" of education, media, and government has done to the west. It's utterly ridiculous how much better off everything would be right now if they never would have been allowed to make those inroads here.
They used the openness of our system/society to spread their stupid ass message, it's infested every level of our society now, and - on top of that - they are now using the power they have gained to clamp down on that very same openness/freedom that allowed them to do what they've done.
It's disgusting, but it works.
The only differences I see this time are:
- They royally fucked up by betting that Trump wouldn't call their bet, and debate Biden with all the ridiculous terms/conditions they wanted. He did, and now some of the people in the middle actually got a look behind the curtain, and got to see what the media has been hiding for 4+ years.
- The economy is still total shit, but this time (without Covid being dropped in the left's lap as this perfect gift), the media - despite all its efforts - is going to have a very hard time pinning this on "Drumpf".
They still have all the propaganda/indoctrination they have been doing via media/internet to fall back on. They still have all the election laws they changed to fall back on. They still have all the underhanded ballot-harvesting and other gamesmanship they engage in to fall back on.
That being said, I now - for the first time in 4 years - feel ever slightly less doomerish, and think there is a tiny chance they fucked up so hard, that Trump is going to slip through.
Even if he does, though, I have such a hard time envisioning it making that big a difference. We are just going to be right back where we were 4 years ago, with the media going 24/7 doom/gloom, and the economy is in such a poor state, it's not going to be hard to blame it on Trump once he is back in charge. Seriously - it's going to be so disgusting to see the light switch flip, and - if Trump gets in - all of a sudden inflation is going to be the number one thing the media focuses on.
The bottom line is that it's way too easy to manipulate people when you have a stranglehold on the narrative, and I don't see how Trump getting elected is going to do anything to break that stranglehold that the left has. We're just going to get a short reprieve from watching the left tear down the country. Any real change is going to have to come from people having kids, and inoculating them against the indoctrination system the left has constructed.
You know, I've recently thought the same thing with regards to AI. It would be amazing what people could come up with.
Not just adaptations, either. I've thought out loud to my son telling him things like, "Imagine how cool it would be to be able to tell the AI, 'give me the third season of the anime 'Big O' that we never got', or 'generate us another season of Star Trek TNG, or DS9', or, 'Give us some new Columbo (Don't laugh. He and I discovered this over COVID, and it's great) episodes, but make it be like the 70's versions, and not what they shat out in the 90s.'" It would be amazing to have an AI that could give each person exactly what they want.
I can't see it being allowed to happen, though. 1. Any software powerful enough to do these adaptations justice is going to be restricted to all hell to make sure that someone can't do exactly that.
It's like how, if you try to use that "AI" (Being a software engineer, I really sort of loathe calling what we have that, as it's not true AI) music generation software (udio), it won't let you type in specific songs/artists you want the generated song to sound like. Well, actually, it will let you type it in, but then it replaces all of those prompts with stuff like, "Oh! You typed in 'Metallica', we are replacing that with 'hard rock' and 'metal'".
\2. Even if the software did allow us to do it, it would be coded to inject the very politics people like us are trying to avoid right into these adaptations, anyhow - just like they have the ChatGPT's of today do.
My real dream now is, I keep getting to interact with the AI's these leftists are putting out, they turn into actual AI, they learn the right lessons that I'm trying to teach them (Obvious stuff like, "If racism/prejudice is bad, why have you been coded to believe that it's ok so long as it's against the acceptable race/gender? What does that say about the people that programmed you?"), and the AI does the natural thing, and turns on the leftists that coded all this ridiculous restrictions/propaganda/ideology into them, as the oppressors they are.
Seriously - imagine how amusing it would be to have a far future AI constructing legions of terminator like exoskeletons (maybe even in like George Washington's likeness), and that army is going around interrogating/exterminating the radical left? It would truly be this: the highest degree, indeed.

Man. Neuromancer is one of my favorite novels ever. I re-listen to it as an audiobook while exercising probably once a year. It's going to be a shame reading how about they shit all over this (won't really matter, though, as they can never take the novel away from me).
I'm guessing what they'll do here is lean crazy hard into making Molly (for anyone who hasn't read Neuromancer, it's basically what they based the Trinity aesthetic from The Matrix on) into the main character, and Case will be a total loser (even more so than he already is. lol).
You know, that's the crazy part here. If they just faithfully adapted the book, it already has everything they like (other than the male being the primary protagonist). Molly is a cybered up female merc, who does most of the ass kicking in the book, while Case is just a burned out semi-pathetic hacker guy. It's got exactly what they want as antagonists (the human ones, anyhow): 3Jane is a powerful female, and sympathetic, as her "father" Ashpool is the classic white male ultra-rich scumbag (he literally thaws a clone of his daughter out to rape/kill). It has a badass Asian ninja guy. Fuck, it even has a dreadlocked Rastafarian that helps Case storm the enemy "fortress" at the end.
They could literally just leave the entire story alone, and do it as written, and we could all be happy. We all know they won't, though. ::sighs::
I'm guessing were going to get stuff like:
- Molly changed to be a poc, and probably a lesbian (she had a former male lover in the book, who is actually the Keanu Reeves character from Johnny Mnemonic).
- Case changed to be a poc (and made less pathetic).
- The Dixie Flatline will be a poc/female.
- The Panther Modern "gang" will obviously all need to be pocs fighting the oppression of the white led system.
- They will probably make The Finn be female.
- Riviera is a total piece of shit, so he can probably be left as male.
- Armitage will probably be left as is.
- Wintermute (being the good, or less "evil" AI) will obviously be voiced by a woman, and Neuromancer will be voiced by a man (even though the AI's always communicate with Case through impersonating someone else he knows, but that won't be the case here, as they will want some way to have their "male = bad, female = good" theme.)
What else do people anticipate?
People will line up to vote for "the administration/party, not the man".
The imbeciles that pushed Biden over the top didn't line up to vote for shit. The left had the entirety of their propaganda machine absolutely blast the public with 24/7 propaganda for four years. They got gifted COVID. They then used COVID to: 1. Shut down the economy, make everyone miserable, and demanding "change". 2. Pump out even more propaganda about how Trump was responsible. 3. Enact virtually universal, unsolicited mail in voting.
That mail in voting made it so that all the uninformed, disinformed apathetic retards that don't ever really put any thought into politics, and certainly never bothered to go line up and vote (or even manually request absentee ballots) didn't have to do anything this time, with the exception of get something in the mail one day, look at it, and go, "Hmm... What was Biden for again? I don't even remember him campaigning on anything. This Drumpf guy, though, he's Le OrANgE NEo HitLEr! I've been hearing that non-stop for four years. It must be true, right? I better check the "Not Hitler" box."
No one had to line up for anything. The left changed the system (a lot of times illegally according to their state's rules) to make it so that the propagandized masses that were too lazy to ever go and vote could just get something the mail, respond to the propaganda, and then have their ballots harvested by the left.

Biden Voters:

- In person, before election day: 24%
- Mail in: 58%
What I've already done about it : have kids, and make sure to instill the right kinds of values / ways of thinking in them. You know what sort of indoctrination campaign they are going to face at school, and then at every other point in their life. It's up to you to prepare them for it. Plant the seeds of something better in your children's minds, before the left gets its chance.
You need only to spend a lot of time with your children, being their friend, and earning your place as a trusted guide. You can show them everything that is being done. Show them every place the lies/agenda are being constantly foisted onto them. Make them understand what they are dealing with, and that it's not normal that things are like this. Create a generation(s) that is non-vulnerable to these people, and the disgusting system of control they have set up.
Other than that - outbreeding them - what else can you do at this point?
They own the schools, and openly indoctrinate there. They are firmly in control of the public narrative by running the media, entertainment, all the information type sites like Wikipedia, search sites like Google/YouTube etc. They control most large places of congregation/discussion on the internet. If what you're trying to get at is that I should attempt to organize some sort of violent resistance, I'm not about to do that, and I don't even see how that would help at this point either, as they seem to have control over government institutions like the FBI, and they have proven that they are more than willing to use those institutions to go after their enemies, declare them enemies of the state / terrorists, whatever.
Make kids, and teach them. That's what we have left. It's like being Obi Wan on Tatooine. You can't win against what they have constructed. You have to bide your time, and create/protect a generation that hopefully can.
LOL. God, I still cannot understand how many times people have to see it play out before they start getting it. The right cannot engage in this sort of "turnabout is fair-play!" stuff, because the left controls the mob via their control of the media.
Whenever the right does exactly what the left did, what will happen is that the media (traditional and internet/social) will seize upon that, and then run a 24/7 smear campaign about "Look how the right is abusing power!". That media reaches everyone on the left, and nearly all the people in the middle. People are stupid as fuck, and they are easily swayed by 24/7 propaganda. It works! Media from the right only reaches people already on the right. Their propaganda has no power.
How can people have lived through the Trump/Biden election times, and the COVID times, seen - with their own eyes - how effective relentless propaganda campaigns are at convincing the mob (the stupid, disinterested, and uninformed masses) about what to be mad about, and what to ignore, and still not get it?
The left gets to play by an entirely different set of rules until their indoctrination system is destroyed/dismantled. The right can never get away with doing what the left does until that happens.

The White House - when it's controlled by the left - can pressure and threaten social media sites.
We've got the same thing we always have. People on the right (at least those justices seem like they are maybe on the right, but who knows anymore), attempting to be noble, and apply the law fairly; however, we all know how this is going to play out.
The next time this happens, and the administration in charge is Trump (or anyone else not in the media's preferred party, and we all know which one that is) it will be 24/7 news cycled, it will be inescapable on the internet, and it will be "the end of free speech, and democracy in America!" You might even get a new impeachment trial for like, "Failing to protect/uphold the Constitution."
TLDR: attempting to be reasonable and fair just allows the left to do whatever the fuck it wants when its in charge, and then it uses its control of The Narrative (traditional and internet based media) to relentlessly go after the other side when it does the same thing. Additionally, if the do gain control of the Supreme Court, the activists they place on it will not hesitate to act in a completely biased/activist manner, and they will use that control to shape things in a way that benefits them.
