It would save them a lot of time if they just said "Everyone but straight", then they wouldn't have to worry about adding more letters every time a brave researcher somewhere discovers a new gender hiding under a rock.

Better than that: Demand leftists comply with their own diversity requirements for their own medical care. If you get treated by a white male doctor, you're a bigot. If you pick a doctor for your heart surgery by their track record instead of choosing a black woman, then you're a bigot. Diversity is your strength.

The guy wrote a fantasy about a girl on a field trip walking up to him in the bathroom and asking him how to use a tampon. The more you learn about him, the more you think that at some point he heard everything bad people say about trannies, and thought, "Those all sound like great sexual fantasies to act out, but they just don't go far enough for me."

Black coaches are already OVER-represented, compared to the general population. Which is why they only ever compare it to the race ratio of players, and then quickly gloss over why black over-representation among players somehow isn't racist while every single majority white profession is, but funny how that "leaders should reflect the ratio of employees" doesn't work in any other field. A silicon valley company saying "Our 90% male board reflects our 90% male hires which in turn reflects the 90% of qualified applicants", and everyone on the left would just become more enraged, and demand MORE than half of the leadership be women, to "encourage more women to enter the field".

So in the name of social justice, I demand black coaches be fired until black players drop to the level of the general population or lower. And even that's hugely generous, considering that women make up well over 60% of college graduates and we still have our foot on the gas for discriminating against men in college admissions, so even reaching equity doesn't matter when it's the left screwing over white men. So, fuck it, let's go full Democrat. No more black coaches ever, and black players should be paid 3/5 as much as white players.

Our business stance in Japan has always been "Notoriety is better than obscurity." No matter how loud the criticism, we believe it's better than being ignored. We will not be reverting any of the above changes, nor offering a restoration patch.

Being massive faggots is our business strategy!

Right, it's stupid. But how would you simplify it? By just saying "Gender: male", right? Or "Male pronouns"? But that's exactly what they're trying to avoid. To them, saying "Male" doesn't actually answer the question because they think it's sexist to say that men are referred to with male pronouns, so they're left without a way to do it concisely, because the English language simply wasn't designed to handle how stupid that is. So as soon as they'd try to make up a new word to describe people who use "he/his/him", some tranny somewhere would say they identify as that but use different pronouns, and they'd be back to where they started, because being a liberal means you must never, ever, ever say a tranny is wrong. It's preferable to deny observable reality than risk making a tranny somewhere uncomfortable.

I've read 3, 4, and 5. Stainless Steel Rat is pretty much a comedy in a science fiction setting, a super criminal going around and carrying out various schemes. Kind of James Bond in the future, with gadgets that are much more outrageous.

The Lensman series is pretty straight-up science fiction written during and shortly after WW2, and probably the most unusual thing about it is the presumed pace of technological advancement. With the invention of jet propulsion, atomic power, radar, ballistic missiles, and whatever else all coming at around that time, it's kind of understandable someone would assume humanity would continue with another world-changing invention every year or so forever.

I guess the thing they both actually happen to have in common is they stress the triumph of the truly exceptional individual over the masses.

It doesn't really matter. Every election I can remember was totally the one that mattered for overturning roe v wade according to the left. It's how they get out their voters. Haven't you heard that there's a war on women's health, and has been for years? Despite women living longer than men?

First of all, the numbers don't show that they're extremely unlikely to commit a crime, they at best show that they're 22% likely to be re-arrested within 5 years for a violent crime. Not all crimes are solved, and not all crimes are even reported, especially in the sorts of places these people likely live, and five years is not much of a window. So the actual number is higher, maybe a lot higher. And if the last few years of wuhan virus hysteria has taught me anything, it's that even a <1% chance of a negative outcome is apparently worth shutting down society over. But now you're telling me 22% (and actually more) is "extremely unlikely" and not worth worrying about?

Second, ask the average person this: "We have ten murderers. If we let them free, between 2 and 3, at least, other innocent people will be violently attacked within five years, and the number goes up from there. Is it worth letting these murderers free?" and they will not say yes.

The Prisoner I've always heard was super progressive for it's time

Maybe so, but not in a "Men are dumb, whites are evil" sort of way, but more by questioning whether our government in general and intelligence agencies in particular really have our best interests at heart, and suggesting that the intelligence agencies of the west are at least potentially as amoral as the KGB. I don't think either of those points are really left wing values any more.

I'd say The Mentalist is worth watching. The main character is a white man and is actually portrayed as being intelligent and capable and not made to be a buffoon by the women in the show, which is refreshing. Of the five main characters, four of them are law enforcement and two of those are women, which I'm sure is fairly unrealistic, but at least they aren't portrayed as being consistently superior to the men. I'd rate the wokeness as low, outside that specific demographic issue. The average episode is good and the long-term plot and mystery of the show is resolved pretty competently.

I don't remember Battlestar Galactica as being particularly woke, but it's been a long time since I saw it, and at the very least it has the same sorts of demographic issues where about half the military personnel are women as if that's somehow remotely realistic. Starbuck in particular was a man in the original show (which I have not watched) and got changed to a woman in the remake. The average episode is okay I guess, and some of them are actually quite good, though the quality is definitely inconsistent and there are times when they ran out of money for the season or something and have lengthy segments dealing with someone's marital problems or some trivial stuff I don't care about. It's also a show which is very focused on some particular mysterious stuff, and most of that stuff is not resolved in a satisfying way whatsoever. The writers clearly had a bunch of inexplicable stuff happen to keep viewer interest without having a plan on how to resolve it, then at the end they kind of threw up their hands and gave up.

If you want totally unwoke stuff, try going back further. Off the top of my head, The Prisoner (1967) is well regarded, extremely unique and somewhat surreal; Danger Man is worth trying, and I liked The Sandbaggers. Apparently I like old spy stuff.

Instead, parliament voted for a budget drawn-up by the opposition which includes the anti-immigrant far right.

At least one person who thinks there should be any limits whatsoever on immigration also voted in support for the budget, therefore nazis.

Her coalition partner, the Greens Party said it could not accept a budget "drafted for the first time with the far-right".

Allowing these literal nazis (see above) to have any voice in politics ever is unacceptable. Note that this is WITH the "far right", not BY the "far right". The thing this woman is ultimately resigning over is that a political party she hates wasn't totally ignored at all times.

A hundred years after Swedish women were given the vote, the 54-year-old Social Democrat leader was given a standing ovation by sections of the parliament, or Riksdag.

Congratulations to this woman for the remarkable accomplishment of owning a vagina. Truly we should all clap.

If there's another prime ministerial vote, Ms Andersson will probably get voted in again.

So her resignation basically doesn't matter and was entirely a publicity stunt because the Green party got upset that the "far right" got anything even slightly done it's way even once.

I just want to also draw attention to the phrase "far right". It's used because it's easy to defend it's literal meaning- "far" is a relative term, so it basically includes half the planet- but it evokes the imagery of fascists and nazis. So you get to call your opponents nazis without having to ever have to defend yourself. "Alt right" is basically the same thing, except even more vaguely defined. This is probably obvious to anyone who stops and thinks about it, but it's worth stating explicitly.

If they're anything like the school district where I grew up, women already make up almost all teachers. Which is obviously just fine with them, and they'd never consider giving the minority men more of a vote. Weird how being in the minority only matters when you're the right kind of minority.

Yeah, now it actively works against free speech and the first amendment.

Though my favorite one was there they basically came out in favor of college-run kangaroo courts for college men accused of anything sexual, but saying that they'd keep an eye on it if it looked like blacks might be disproportionately affected. They pretty much explicitly said, "Yeah, this is happening to men, so we don't care. Maybe if it happens to blacks more we might, though."

I'm against bunkers for the government for any purpose. If something so bad happens that the "leadership" needs to go hide in a bunker, they fucked up badly enough that they be afraid of dying like the rest of us. Nuclear war, a global pandemic that actually kills healthy people, whatever, people in government should know that if that happens, their neck is on the lines at least as much as the people they laughingly claim to serve.

Yeah, warframe is pretty far gone down the leftist road. They have a chat mod whose in-game name was actually "friendzoning misandrist" and at least one other who's a tranny, and when the pot finally boiled over about how much they overtly hate their audience, the devs appointed a guy to "fix" it all who... was already friends with all the mods he was supposed to get into line. It's all actually much worse than this very brief summary, and it's kind of an amazing example of how being an alphabet person protects you from criticism even when you're actively and publicly trying to destroy the audience of your employer. Oneangrygamer covered it at the time with some links to some good videos about it, but who knows if any of that is still up.

Girls and women are disproportionately affected by the financial crisis, who face greater obstacles getting food, health care and financial resources, Human Rights Watch said on Thursday.

Of course they are.

“I am aware of a transphobic post shared by a fellow General Hospital actor. Shame on you,” wrote transgender General Hospital actress Cassandra James, adding, “You have some serious unlearning and education to do.”

"unlearning" is right. To call a man a woman takes the equivalent of several hammers to the brain, at least, to "unlearn" the facts that even children instinctively know. Also, soap operas have trannies in them now, apparently?

Any mods that remove woke stuff will be made near-impossible to learn about or get. Nexus and steam workshop both have a history or banning mods that do that.

There was a mod that made the women in Total War: Three Kingdoms actually look attractive, and it got banned.

There was a mod that made it so the 70% black humans in Stellaris were white, it got banned.

There was a mod that fixed an actual bug in X4: Foundations that made almost every human you met a black dreadlocked woman, and it got banned.

So yeah, someone could theoretically make such a mod. But nobody will host it for you, and even if you host it on your own website where nobody will see it, any forum topics about it will be deleted.

Yeah, that's the takeaway here: Trevor Noah is such a piece of shit he can't even imagine someone lifting a finger to defend someone else from violence. Violence coming from antifa and BLM people like him.

Well, yeah, by "they" I meant some pharma PR division or the CDC or someone.

I could come up with some explanation, like "Jab at least describes an injection while dose is a broader term, so they go with 'jab' because they find too many people would reject 'dose' as inaccurate and fall back to 'injection', which they are trying to avoid", but I am happily not a PR focus group guy, so I don't know. But when an unusual word suddenly starts being used by everybody to describe some politically charged thing everyone used to use a different word for, I think it's safe to assume some PR opinion-manipulation is behind it all.

14
arglide 14 points ago +14 / -0

I suspect they focus-grouped "injection" and found that people reacted negatively to it, so they came up with a different word. "Jab" is probably actually the most positive word they could come up with for describing the act of getting an injection.

I used the tabletop simulator version, and it's very slick. Definitely arguable if a full-on game version of it would even be an upgrade. A lot of the functionality where it's kind of interesting the way they did it through cards, like the enemy AI and difficulty scaling and random events and long-term campaign, would be hidden and just look like a standard AI and scripting when fully automated in a game. At that point, why not just play something that was designed to be a PC game from the ground up, instead of being designed to have everything work through cards, then having that all redesigned to an AI, where having enemies be automated and do things specific to their type isn't even slightly unusual any more?

It's kind of like making a flight-capable model airplane that's made entirely out of folded cardboard and powered by rubber bands with some sort of a mechanical autopilot, and then someone makes a new version of it that's made out of aluminum and is powered by a motor with electronics. Wasn't the whole point that it was made out of folded cardboard? Now that it's competing against normal model airplanes, it's not really interesting any more.

If you're looking for a 1-4 player semi-tactical turn-based RPG with really interesting combat mechanics and a great long-term campaign that WAS designed to be a PC game from the ground up, I highly recommend Divinity Original Sin 2.

Anyway, at the time I initially started trying it, I was on a slow connection and the in-game downloading didn't work very well, "TTS Mod Backup" solved that problem for me and is pretty easy to use.
