I saw it expressed far more eloquently earlier but for now you'll have to put up with me.

Women often don't hold opinions of their own without putting them through a consensus filter. It's not "is this correct?", it's "how would the herd feel if I thought this".

You make a circle full of those opinions to give the impression of a consensus and anything is possible for them.

Is this the live action one where they made one of the triplets black? I can imagine this pitch meeting.

A: "Well they're genetic triplets so it makes no sense at all for one of them to be black"

B: "Okay so which one has a temper and runs around angry like an animal?"

A: "Buttercup."

B: "Make Buttercup black"

I sometimes wonder what that's like. Not that I want to be delusional, but I just wonder what it would be like to live in a society that validates everything I do - just to experience it once. Like a vacation or something.

How else do you think that so many people fall for this shit. Even intelligent folks who go in knowing it's all bullshit can come out the other side crazy.

People these days don't protect because they have legitimate grievances. They protest because it's hip and trendy and gives a sense of virtuous meaning to their otherwise empty and uninsteresting lives.

If we are to be fair, let's not forget that many if not all royal marriages aren't made out of love.

Hardly a surprise if their eyes wander. Not justifying doing anything about it but just saying.

It would be nice since it could feed into the James Bond codename fan theory without going full "look at this brave dubyu O Cee standing where a MAN once stood"

Alas since Spectre that's a no-go.

Not heard of it here either, but I think we all know he wasn't hired to the show because of his business credentials.

Call me old fashioned, but I like to keep the whole Israel-Palestine in a part of the universe I like to call "someone else's problem"

Eccleston was a good doctor, but it's abundantly clear that to him it was just an acting job and he knows next to nothing about the show itself.

So his opinion on its lore isn't really any better than mine or yours.

Remember the days were people tried to make timeless art rather than a quick, forgettable, cash grab?

In 3 years we'll have completely forgotten this series, but it'll take decades to forget the Jackson films.

Hanlon's razor. They're not competent enough to get it wrong intentionally.

The only people who can afford to live in London and therefore vote there are the types for whom an ivory tower would be a step down in accommodation.

Of course they elect the oppressed brown man.

LBTY provides internet to a significant chunk of Europe.

Time to see who ISPs start blocking.

No no, in the original 2005 continuation they introduced the concept of the "Time War" which had happened of screen and had resulted in the destruction of all of the Time Lords and (nearly) all of the Daleks, with the Doctor being the only survivor.

Anyone who says that something cannot be questioned because it's science neither knows what science is or has the intellectual capacity to ask questions.

Davies, as much of a raging leftist he may be, has enough respect for his craft to prioritize writing a good story. He is able to separate his own politics from the script he is working on, and has the wisdom to know what will work and what will be instantly dated; and has the wisdom to know what, over the 50 years of Doctor Who, is hard canon not to be meddled with and what has more leeway.

It is a real shame his successors didn't share those traits.
