Armored Core 6 Trailer

Still probably the game I am most looking forward to this year. Hands down.

Build a city that can survive in a forest filled with Slavic monsters.

I saw this one a while back. It actually looks like it could be a very cool idea, but I do want to see how it actually turns out in practice.

Deep Rock Galactic has a happy Community

Yeah?! No kidding. I am sure it has nothing to do with a helpful company that encourages it, and gamers that are actually in it for the fun instead of some lecture.

Also more that he was in love with the ideal he had of Daisy, rather than Daisy herself (who was obviously wildly different from his ideal).

Probably my favorite non-military book (like Tom Clancy). And like others have pointed out, surprisingly relevant today.

Congratulations sir, you managed to get an IRL laugh out of me. Enjoy your upvotes.

Definitely agree on Oppenheimer. I am just glad that historical movies have actually been pretty good at holding out all things considered.

Other than that on movies, John Wick 4 was pretty good (already seen), and for newer I am going to be seeing the new Mission:Impossible, The Expendables 4 (I am a sucker for dumb action movies, especially these days), and Dune 2.

Other than that, I am mostly just continuing watching anime, but I am on a backlog and catching up from previous years so that may not count. If it does, then I am finally going to sit down and watch through all of Fairy Tail, S2 of Vinland Saga, and all of Demon Slayer.

I know it wasnt on the list, but video games are where I actually put in a lot of my time now, and that list would be Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, War Hospital, and Age of Wonders 4.

And with the gaming, that is leaving out all of the Japanese made games where it runs into the same thing as anime where you are spoiled for choice. I am a huge fan of Valkyria Chronicles, and most of the women in that have the looks and personality to give any anime character a run for their money.

And do I even need to bring up the likes of Tifa?

There were reports that Trump was going to go personally lobby against this, but he chickened out.

And if that is indeed true, it backs up my theories that he wouldnt run third party if he loses the primaries. His image is all about "I am a winner", so why would he causes the ultimate lose when he can just take a minor lose and then spin it some way?

I looked, but I can not for the life of me find the source again. But I very distinctly remember hearing from somewhere that the Japanese side studio was heavily involved with the dub work for SpyXFamily, and other studios were showing interest (after one too many times of their work being fucked with).

"my home state will happily accept your 70,000+ jobs if you want to leave Florida"

Ha. Haha. HAHAHAHAHA!

Disney World aint moving. It is an empty threat on its face. Or do you really think you can just pick up and move something the size of San Francisco, with lots of custom and "cant be built again" infrastructure, and not have it be comically expensive?

From what I have heard, a lot of Japanese companies have also been starting to do the translations for dubs themselves, to try and cut down on the BS (which is also what has caused a lot of the much better dubbing in recent shows). And if that doesnt work? You know damn well they will start hiring them on their own.

Meanwhile, I don’t shout those things from the rooftop like he does. And I have been with my other half for 12 years and have barely even had instances of raising our voices at one another. Never mind an incident that could end our relationship.

Certainly keeps to my theories about “those who shout the loudest have the guiltiest minds.”

I have also had a theory that a lot of the things happening with Indians are due to the whole caste system. Where many who can immigrant are from the upper caste, come here expecting to be treated like royalty like they were in India, and when the Americans tell them “we don’t do that here”, they go Dem because they are willing to give the royal treatment for political reasons.

And then it is an issue further exasperated by the fact that there are many like me who have a personal distaste of loli but fear that any attempt to ban it will be used to ban all anime (thereby cutting off one of the means currently tearing Western entertainment's asshole out), or lead to further restrictions and censorship. As has happened many times with these sorts of issues.

I dont think it will ever not be a contentious subject for all of those reasons.

Unfortunately not. That was years ago and I saw it second hand, so I dont have a link.

I think that we've lost appreciation for endings, as culture. It's all "content" designed to go on forever.

I actually hadnt considered this point. It is certainly one of the things I enjoy more. And I also enjoy that the overwhelming majority of Manga/Anime has endings where the good guys win and the bad guys are defeated. It's so uncommon in this day and age that it makes it actually worthwhile again, instead of just childish things. Its the same reason why I am getting turned off from Anti-Heroes a la "The Boys" (if its a Punisher "I am doing this because the system is broken" sort of Anti-Hero, I am still fine with it though).

Wall-Might is also proof you can make fun of Trump and still be funny. But the Left can’t do that because they don’t make fun of Trump, they make a caricature and then spit on and beat it. Because they hate him, so they cant have fun.

They are also obsessed with efficiency and profit above all else. So they may occasionally get battered into creating a Woke manga by Western investors or Twitter freaks. Then it will crash and burn, they will say “Well, so much for that.” And then go back to the stuff that sells until it’s time for badgering again.

You don’t understand: their logic is stupider than that.

I saw one time that a comic author was on Twitter trying to argue that Manga selling out was a good thing for Comics. How you might ask? Well, you see, people will still want their graphic novels. And so if the manga is all sold out, then they will start looking at comics to satisfy their fix.

How do you even begin to fix the problem when your own people think that their competitors eating their lunch is good for them?!

I dont think even this puts into scale just how absurd the growth in Manga was. How absurd was it? The entire American comic book market, including Indies, was outsold by just the merch of Demon Slayer.

And yet, comic pros think that this is all fine and proof that the Comic industry is healthier than it has ever been.

Normal people cook their own food with restaurant meals being an occasional treat.

This. I will go out to eat when I cant be bothered to make something, but that is usually once a week max, once every other week more often.

For my normal week, when I go grocery shopping, I will buy meat (usually switch it up between chicken, pork chops, or burgers), cook it on the weekend when I have plenty of free time, and then put it in the refrigerator in a container. Sometimes with extra food like potatoes that I also cooked. Then throughout the week, when I get home from work, I just get some of the meat and other sides like carrots, and that will be dinner.

Don't forget that Reagan's 2nd term gave way to the beginnings of Neo-Conservativism, and the increasing influence of the former director of the CIA as his VP: George Bush Sr. Even a guy as good as Reagan can be co-opted.

I mean, that kind of goes back to your point about who you surround yourself with. Reagan was still in that phase where you could supposedly trust those sort of officials, so when they started taking power there wasnt much he could do since he didnt really see the problem (then Dementia happened).

But DeSantis has thus far been excellent in his picks. Some of them even more hardcore on the issues than he is (like the Florida Surgeon General who enjoyed getting into frequent fights with Fauci and the NIH over Covid). In fact, it is one of the point I put so far in his favor for a potential White House run (of course, balanced out by the fact that he would need to get that shit through Congress instead of just saying so).

So, when DeSantis shows, uncensored, on live television, in a public briefing, how a textbook shows children how to use a butt plug; the value in that is showing the face of the evil to normies who never even imagined that anyone would do that; let alone that entire institutions are built to protect the people who are doing that.

It certainly took a torpedo to their narrative. I know normies who saw that, saw it get censored for "showing porn", but you could see the cogs turning and them thinking "But it is fine in schools?" But they just cant help themselves, because he put them in a position where it is a lose-lose for them as far as that data is concerned. And that movement only spreads more. Which is why they are trying so hard to make it about "Look at those evil conservatives banning library books." In a desperate hope that it makes people associate with old evils instead of actually looking at the books banned.

The value in showing the face of evil and calling it out is something that conservatives don't want to fully commit to; because it's very uncooth, and they have always tended to live in environments which censor immorality.

At least for a lot I know though, that is starting to change. People always throw around the Dune quote about "When I am weaker, I ask for your principles, when I am stronger, I enforce my principles" as for why the Left does what it does, and why the Right doesnt stop it. But I have seen a new trend growing that can basically be summed up as "Because I know you are a threat to my principles, you will not receive the mercy of them."

It has really been noticeable with gun rights and CRT, where the Left attempts to do some sort of argument about, say, "free speech" to defend CRT. And then the Right says "Did I ask for your opinion? No? Then suck fat nuts! bitchslaps Leftoid" Which thus far has been met with increased election turnout like that seen in Florida (with its 20% margin of victory).

They also got the job wrong. They make it out like he was working in one of the meat packing plants. When I tracked it back, he was working for a cleaning service that was contracted by plant. But hey, got to keep up the narrative about "Hispanics are needed to make your food" I suppose.

I don't think it's a full scale ruse; I think he's just got a bit of Ted Cruz in him.

Honestly, I think it is more like what went down with Reagan. You start out as something completely the opposite (Reagan was a communist, DeSantis was a NeoCon). But then once you start getting into positions where you get to see behind the curtain and learn the truth about what you are arguing for, and you have the conviction, you backlash. And then you become the exact opposite of what you used to be (Reagan becoming a founding Neo-Liberal back when that meant something, DeSantis becoming an arch American Populist), and you fight twice as hard because "I know what you will do if you win."

Make him in charge of the Department of Education, see what the fuck happens.

I can hear the absolutely titanic reeing now. I just hope that, if Trump wins, he and his people take a page from DeSantis book when dealing with the media: Dont even bother trying to explain yourself or make them come around to your side. Tell them to bite your ass, and bulldoze through to get the job done. And then let the people rally to your deeds, ignoring the media all together.

We ought to cut that down to 20k or so.

Even more than that, keep them in the countries that actually like us (IE: Poland, Italy, Czech Republic, Baltic States, etc). Why should we be helping countries like Germany and France who hate our guts and keep trying to stab us in the back.

Asia is the axis on which human civilization will turn for the next century.

Even with everything happening here, I still think it is going to be the American century when all is said and done. But the future of America is absolutely in Asia, not Europe.
