I always felt it did so on a higher level than Current YearTM insert politics
It's definitely less ham-fisted than most of Current Year masturbatory writing (minus the pro-human episode, that was just naked propaganda), but I have zero tolerance for any of it at this point.
Well if we're talking laughs, the only podcasts that I ever actually laugh at are the Hodge Twins and Salty Cracker.
I'd still put Guttfield much higher than "awful." It's watchable (from what little I've seen) and marginally informative and not overtly intellectually offensive.

I just started watching Babylon 5. I'm like 6 episodes in and I've already seen a Nazis bad allegory, a "poor black man was experimented on by the government, and also is the only guy that the hot blonde has had any romantic interest in" episode, and a "humans saying that Earth should be for humans are evil scum maggots" episode.
I hear that the series gets good and has a cool story arc, but I'm not willing to put up with much more of this. I'm just waiting for the "men are bad" episode and then they'll pretty much have the '90s leftist propaganda bases covered.
I just received a company-wide email from our DEIB committee chair reminding everybody that conversations in the company #social-* Slack channels should try to steer away from controversial political topics.
This after they (the DEIB committee) send out political garbage like pride/black history month propaganda, Juneteenth celebrations, or women's day nonsense.
Of course, when they do it they're just being good people. You are the one introducing political strife into their beautiful, inclusive conversations.
Spark has been here forever.
The concept of "forum sliding" is fucking stupid. People post messages to message boards. Some people post messages to multiple message boards. That's not some nefarious action.
That said, yes, he's been posting doomer bullshit about Trump a lot lately. Trump isn't perfect but most of his posts have been stupid.
If you mean the forces behind the anti-Gamergate crowd killed shit talk, then yeah.
But if you mean that people who were concerned about payola and ideological subversion of games somehow caused the culture of bans for shit-talking, well, then you're a lunatic.
I know I come across as majorly cocky sometimes, I'm not that lacking in self-awareness
Friendly suggestion: after you finish a post, re-read it and find any bits where you talk about yourself and simply delete those paragraphs.
Yes, sometimes personal experience is relevant to a post. But no, your programming experience or British citizenship is not relevant to every post. You'd be better erring on the side of caution and your posts will be better if you just leave it out.
It's not a universal since any escapees from communist shit holes like Cubans or Vietnamese (the boat people ones) are more right than a lot of multi generational Americans.
Sure, but those aren't the people that they're pumping through the process now.
I like terrible sci-fi.
Give me tar monsters and aliens made of painted bubble wrap. The more bad CGI the better. Just leave the goddamn political messaging out of it.
