I think if Hyenas had gotten to release, it might have drawn as much mockery (well deserved mockery, at that), if not more. Doubly so since the PvPvE extraction shooter elements and zero gravity gameplay were not working out from what little I know about the game.
I don't think it helped that you needed a Playstation account to play the game, especially since that hurt Helldivers 2 a lot.
I think it even fell short of the Day Before in terms of longevity (Which lasted about 40-50 days before the servers were shut down). To say nothing of Battleborn getting three more years to serve it's cult following after it's last content update despite crashing hard in the wake of overwatch and the fact that Bioware's Anthem is still running (To my knowledge) long after the pandemic cancelled the attempted rework.
Indeed. Not to mention that the cultists who actually like this shit have it blow up in their faces when games they shit on like Hogwarts Legacy or Black Myth: Wukong make huge sums of money. I do think that a lot of the situations where they made money were only due to the fact that these games were dependent on the DEI funding tey got to make any profit at all.
The problem with dealing with an extremely conformist, collectivist society is you end up in situations like this. There being a single possible way to talk about their history or society without insulting them.
I actually wonder if that applies to the DEI nutters, now that you bring that up...
its why Nobunaga is 400% evil and literally Satan anytime they need a villain
Yes, I have seen him portrayed both in a positive (The Ambition of Oda Nobuna is one case where I've seen a heroic Nobunaga) and negative light before - according to another user on c/gaming, the same can be said of Akechi Mitsuhide, who betrayed him, but there's still a lot of respect for the guy to have made people angry about this.
but Ubisoft has no leeway or benefit of the doubt left after all the other bullshit they are pulling here.
100%. The questionable portrayal of both Nobunaga and Akechi might have been forgiven if it wasn't for all the shit they pulled with Yasuke and the upset it caused the Japanese.
Not to mention that if it becomes clear that the government is doing something that could easily be taken as a sign that they are trying to give themselves more power (IE cracking down on social media "misinformation") or even starts using guns themselves, that could inflame things as well. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if criminal elements start finding something lucrative in the chance to give somebody an edge.
Exactly. Biden has finally become an obvious failure and they finally have Kamala in the right position to push her for president. I refuse to believe that Biden being put in the white house had zero hand in her getting anywhere this far, even if by accident.
Yeah. It's bloody hilarious to see everything from an anime version of the moment to a ugandan-acted-out version of the moment.
For real, too: https://notthebee.com/article/kids-in-checks-notes-uganda-are-recreating-the-attempted-hit-on-donald-trump
Indeed. I think the precise turning point was the presidential debate, which was where it became so obvious that they couldn't lie to the face of normies about Biden's competency anymore. Sure, I know they aren't stupid enough to suddenly believe the earth is flat because CNN said so, but it had to take a screw-up this bad to flounder any trust that voting for biden was a good idea.
I think that a democrat who is too openly pro-Israel would be a PR nightmare, given that there are already lots of leftists who are critical enough of the country that they might not want someone who does.
I still don't know who they could get to replace him, given that they are running out of time fast and he is being quite stubborn with holding the position.
It's basically NFT-like market speculation, but done within the marketplace and cutting Steam in on the profits.
I should tell you something I remember hearing from Cryptobros. They would often use steam's item trading marketplace as a sort of sign that NFTs could work, saying that their version was open source and free of DRM. However, I think that this entire fiasco could be seen as a warning sign of why this example could be turned against them, especially considering the CSGO skin gambling debacles, and I don't think they know how to solve most of the problems that already exist with steam's marketplace.
No guarantee that that would work, either, since pro-palestinian people might start noticing(tm), or the fact that there is probably a good number of lefty editors that might not take kindly to being called antisemites despite what they believe.
I guess it is hilarious when the information controllers are turning against the ADL. I think it would look even more ridiculous if the ADL started to claim that Wikipedia has been compromised by Antisemites (I don't think that they are going to do that right away, as it would be another blow to them, but I think they might do so if the current israel situation drags on long enough).
I did post this in the other thread about Eurovision: I am honestly flabbergasted that Israel not only qualified, but also came second in the televote despite the fact that there's a huge amount of protesters going after the israeli government and state. Hell, they apparently got the most 12 points from the most countries. If anything, it shows that there is a lot more support for Israel than the news will have you believe.
Croatia (An objectively better act by far) will probably be treated as the winner by a lot of people in that case - hell, in a lot of comments for his video there's a lot of people saying things like "Who cares about the jury?". The exact same thing happened last year with Finland winning the public vote but Sweden had too much from the jury to be stopped.
I find it even odder that Israel came second in the televote despite the fact that there is a huge hate for the country. Is it another sign that people are brainwashed by globohomo or a massive protest vote against it?
There's rumors that the scoring system will be changed in the future to give televotes more power, at least.
It reminds me of how older anti-drug programs like D.A.R.E. accidentally helped increase drug use and how Cigarette companies acutally exploit anti-smoking campaigns for their own benefit.
