I mean before him it was verne troyer getting all of those roles. Seinfeld did an episode about it that summed it up perfectly, where those kinds of actors either "grow" out of them or die out of them, and never get replaced otherwise.
It should be noted that this doesn't apply to the entirety of our country. Ontario is a mix of your california/montana depending on where you look (as it has our 2 biggest cities, yet also has a rural side that's about 80% the size of texas). Take what happens there with a bit of a grain of salt.
"Relax guys. I have one black friend. Well, actually he's half black. Alright I'll level with you, his dad may have gone to jamaica once. Good ol Jamaica Indiana, where they will murder anyone whose skin even remotely has pigment."
I mean it was the same with poker for a while. They had women's only events that men could "technically" enter, albeit it was frowned upon. Back in I think 2012 a man did enter and finished 4th, forcing them to change the rules a bit (now women enter for 1/50th of the cost of men, making it less appealing).
Well, that and our version of the "right" here is the equivalent of your middle-ground. We've had a rino problem for decades here yet the few who have tried to stand up to it, especially in quebec, have "mysteriously disappeared".
It may be a bit too late, but I'm strangely excited to see payday 3 for all the wrong reasons. Payday 2 had a lot, and I mean a lot of issues (DLC's would get released with OP stuff, allowing you to pay to win the game). With them adding day-1 DLC, I'm thinking this game could be so laughably bad it'll create a black hole on steam, sucking in every man woman and child who dares to view the platform.
I know for a lot of the smaller groups the reason they're doing it is to try and send a message about the platform as a whole getting more "racist". On average, communities that have done stuff like this will notice a decent-sized shrinkage afterwards of about 20% or so (they did a similar protest last year in their league of legends group and saw their base drop from 800,000 to about 715k).
They're basically trying the whole "30% of all suicides are women" argument only on a larger scale.
I don't think people realize though that "edgy" humor is good humor. Ask anyone over the age of 50 what they consider the most important comedy they've seen, majority will say carlin's "7 words you can't say on tv or radio". Ask most europeans what they'd consider the most important comedy they saw, and it'd be frankie boyle's jokes about the queen that got him banned from most of their stations for a while.
"Comedy is like a painting and society is Dorian Gray: while the body may look okay it isn't always a reflection of what is truly going on"
Serious no, but he did a surprising amount of movies. Once michael (has probably killed more people than the halloween villain) myers put the guy on a pedistal everyone wanted him in stuff especially here in canada. Prior to entering rehab he was supposed to be heavily featured in the trailer park boys.
