It's written by a historian who, after years of research, came to the conclusion that human history is so violent, evil, distorted and mysterious that there must be a hidden external force playing divide and conquer with us, trying to achieve full control. It then speculates on who or what that external force might be based on historical evidence. Excellent reading if you're into esoteric subjects.

The attempted rape scene was part of a larger "poor illegal workers oppressed by the evil Empire" theme. Another one bites the dust.

There's no such thing as a labor shortage, it's called full employment and it's beneficial to the majority of the population because their labor is in high demand and they can easily find jobs and ask for higher pay.

Naturally, the powers that be don't like it when the masses have it too good so now it's a made up problem that must be solved with globohomo. I was hoping the Slavic world was based enough to resist it but here we are.

I just watched a Ken Burns documentary about Lewis and Clark, the first American citizens to reach the west coast. It took them 2.5 years and ~8000 miles (13000 km) in total. That's quite mind-boggling for a European, maybe Russians can comprehend it.

The officials said that while the Ukrainians were likely to use the missiles first against Russian and North Korean troops that threaten Ukrainian forces in Kursk, Mr. Biden could authorize them to use the weapons elsewhere.

According to NYT it's Kursk only at this point.
