The revolution is continuous. It finds oppression in the status quo, so it tears down the status quo, but whatever is left becomes the oppressive status quo, so it must continue tearing down perpetually.

That's why people who declare that this is anti-white, or anti-male are incorrect. It is, at the moment, but what it is truly is anti-competence.

The revolution is driven by embittered, resentful mediocrities who hate strength, beauty, talent, creativity, and accomplishment. All the things they will never have. It's so unfair. We must have equity.

Race, gender, and sexual identities are just the cracks in society where they drive their wedges. When they destroy the dominant identity, the most competent identity left will be next to get the hammer. They will keep hammering and tearing and each time the revolution reaches one of the identities of some remaining revolutionaries, they will say, "Hey, guys! I think we've gone far enough!"

I watch Critical Drinker, too. I think he's pretty fair about critiquing works on their actual merits (or lack thereof). He covers story, characters, dialogue, editing, direction. He's not just, "OMG CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY RACE-SWAPPED YOGI BEAR?!"

But he also tends to be at his funniest when he's ferociously shitting on something terrible.

I think watching CD is why I get the recommendations for all these other culture critics. A while back I was watching one of his vids, and they was a video on the sidebar, "OMG THE NEW INDIANA JONES TRAILER IS TERRIBLE!" and it was a twenty minute video. Twenty minutes. Bitching about a trailer. No.

I think Chernobyl is one of the best and most important series I've ever seen.

It perfectly depicts how an authoritarian government that rules through lies, and promotes based on loyalty to the party instead of competence, will eventually crash into reality with disastrous results. Nothing could be more relevant to our current moment in history.

I read somewhere that Craig Mazin said, "Hurr, durr, it's actually about Trump!" but I never found the actual quote where he said that. It would take a TDS-addled mind to perceive anything about Trump in the show.

The production values are excellent. The haunting atmosphere of paranoia and despair is palpable (the excellent soundtrack helps). The performances are great, particularly Harris and Skarsgard. It also does an excellent job of explaining how Chernobyl blew up.

I highly recommend it.

All these ostensibly "comedy" advertisements are the same:

• Fool does something idiotic hoping to achieve some result.
• Wise/exasperated wife/friend/co-worker tells Fool he just needs $PRODUCT for result
• Womp womp consume $PRODUCT

There are already alarming numbers of boys and men who have retreated from any interaction with live women for the comfort and safety of porn, which provides sexual fantasies of an intensity that few can realistically fulfill.
