My dad and I caught one episode on tv during the holidays, darth Vader was battling someone around lava and fell in. The dialog was so cliche and ridiculous we laughed and changed the channel.

Because police aren’t responsible with analysis, they’re social cleanup. They show up to separate and dissolve a terrible situation, it’s someone else’s job to sort out right and wrong.
It’s not a dig at cops but a realization that their job starts and ends with stopping whatever fuckup has occurred so that someone else can adjudicate what’s right and wrong when the scene is safe.
They are the big dogs of the pack who step in to stop other dogs from biting and fighting. Once things are normalized they move on to the next situation and this problem is turned over those familiar with law and process.

I have a huge steam library and disposable income for plenty of new games. I would honestly rather do my day job than play those games for 40 hours a week.
I hate journalists but they’re probably right. A TON of games are awful and having to play them in a structured way for hours on end probably really does suck.
Hell, playing video games for 40 hours a week, even if you liked the game, would feel like a soulless and pointless existence. You didn’t build anything, you didn’t form relationships, you didn’t lead any new endeavors, and you didn’t help anyone. My life is actually better since the media and internet are total trash. I have a lot more hobbies I’m engaged with and enjoy. It used to be surfing the web or watching tv was what I did when bored. And it wasn’t enjoyable, it was just something to do.
Now I do things I like.
The franchise died with Prometheus and I saw the original in theaters. I’ve been along for the entire ride. TBH, Alien 3 is when shit jumped the shark and it was heavily mocked.

When print magazines died over a decade ago they were all purchased by a select few major publishers. Since there is zero money in magazines, they cut all the staff and reduced them to copypasta. Regardless of the title, they are all virtually the same nonsense written by a small handful of writers.
For comparison, it’s like what clearchannel did to radio. There are no independent disc jockeys curating playlists. A machine writes the playlists and they’re sent out to the stations to play.
For “magazines”, they either rehash the same stories they’ve ran for 20 years or get direct orders from the mothership on what to write. It’s all extremely fake and manufactured
I left Chicago years ago but the massive increase in hobo camps was a major reason. A majority of the population has a Disney-esq viewpoint that they’re just tired people down on their luck. Their “street beggar” act is just a character they play. When they’re in their camps it’s far different.
The reality is they are hardcore drug addicts who get in fights multiple times per week, introduce drug dealers to your area who cause their own violence, and they pimp out their women to fuel their drug binges.
They are lawless vagabonds with nothing to lose and a huge danger to society. I don’t feel anything for this woman bc she’s created a cartoon version of the homeless in her mind and she went out of her way to find her cute pets. To anyone with experience this is exactly the expected outcome.

I believe Ethan is actually my age and his entire “career” is being condescending, shitting on other people, and making demands of them from his computer screen. Whether it’s made him money is irrelevant, there are many ways to make money that are distasteful and anti-social. Making money doesn’t make you a good person or even someone to be admired.

If anyone has been to a gaming forum in the last decade this probably isn’t a surprise. A massive number of them put their entire lives into a single game and if it doesn’t blow away their expectations, they circle jerk each other into a froth of insanity and hatred.
These are video games were talking about. Casual entertainment at the computer. I’ve been a pc gamer for over 20 years and watched forums turn these people into absolute disasters of humanity.
