I read my way through Dragon Warriors, Final Fantasies, Phantasy Stars, and many other RPGs. Voice acting adds little value, and I turn on captions anyway, pressing a button to skip as soon as I've read the dialogue.
Men's sports are an actual meritocracy in most cases though, because actual money is on the line. When you have a sport being subsidized by the men's version, then you can insert activism. DEI takes root when there are no financial incentives to the contrary, or in other words when DEI subsidies outweigh the negative financial impact of DEI.
It's decent. It's full of contrived plot points, over the top Ryan Reynolds dialogue, plot armor, deus ex machina: all the stuff you expect from a Deadpool movie. It's an excuse to get two of the world's favorite superhero stars into movie again and provide some fan service.
I laughed, i didn't feel like it was a waste of time. A couple of the cameos were actually pretty awesome IMO. It may have been slightly too long, but that could also be the 44 oz theater soda I drank. I'd give it a 7/10. It's not going to revive the shitty Disney MCU, because Deadpool is outside of that. One and done. But it's worth a watch.
