to quote one of my earlier posts on the subject:

being internet addicts, puberty predictably leads them towards tons of porn. For most people, the sexually stimulating part of porn is the sex. however, autists look more specifically. for certain autists, this means it is not the sex that is attractive, but the concept of "woman". "woman" is sexually pleasing. "woman" means sexual euphoria.

The leftist Establishment are evil, the leftist populous are lemmings and sheep.

The rightist Establishment are indeed retarded, the rightist populace are neutered.

I've noticed a distinct lack of "tolerance" in their messaging over the past several years. it seems to have been replaced with "inclusion", which has been successful redefined to mean "exclude the undesirables"

old news, but worth repeating. especially when you consider that this generation grew up on Star wars, Harry potter, hunger games, etc. all series that have clearly defined boundaries between good and evil, with little nuance or consideration for why the bad guys are doing what they're doing.

their masters say doesn't exist, so it doesn't exist. like the automatons in Westworld, if you show them raw footage of it happening, they'll just say "doesn't look like anything to me"

yep, "big" is a relative term, so the only way to fact check it is to recontextualize the original quote. Seattle times is certainly making a fool of themselves here, but the real question is who can see it?

this is what a lot of the fact checks are amounting to. Trump makes a true but exaggerated claim, and the media marks the entire thing false because the claim was exaggerated.

Confederates at FT Sumter

There's a slight, but I believe important difference between the two situations. fort Sumter was indeed a union fort, but it was deep within Confederate territory and the CSA just declared itself an independent nation. It could be argued that the Union was illegally occupying the CSA and were expelled with force.

Pearl harbor was US territory amongst US held space. Unlike fort Sumter, you cannot claim that the attack on Pearl harbor was defensive.

the funny thing is they were so close to finishing it. if the carriers were at pearl harbor and we're sunk, that likely would have been the end of the war. even if the US wanted to enter the war, they would have been incredibly behind as Japan steam rolls over the Eastern Pacific.

my takeaway is that Trump is very prone to exaggeration, but the core of what he says is not wrong.

80, 85, to 90% of voters think I will be better on the economy

it's closer to 65%, which is still an insane margin over your competition.

the Taliban gained $85 billion of military equipment when we foot Afghanistan

it was closer to $7 billion, which is still a fucking lot.

Trump needs to get in the habit of using vague terms when making statements like this.

"most voters prefer me on the economy over harris, and the margin isn't even close"

"the Taliban was able to steal an army's worth of our military equipment when we fled Afghanistan."

this would make his statements functionally the same, but would leave him less vulnerable to dirty media tricks.

I could definitely see this. with the amount of laundered dark money the Democrats are operating on, it wouldn't be a stretch for them to buy out the betting markets.

my take is that it's a prediction on perception, not the quality of the candidate. a lot of trump supporters were banking on Harris's inability to do or say anything off script, but thanks to the moderation those opportunities were scarce. with the cheating that we all know is happening, Trump needs a significant margin over Harris in order to beat the margin of fraud. since Harris looks competent if you squinted, that margin was not delivered via the debate like many of us thought it would.

moderator (paraphrased): do you regret anything you did on j6 (accusatory tone)

Trump (paraphrased): I told my supporters to be patriotic and peaceful, they never should have shot Ashley Babbitt. But WhAT aBoUt ThE boArdER!?!?

God damnit Trump, you said everything right. there was no need to deflect. people will notice that deflection

abortion section

Trump (paraphrased): liberals were proposing the ability to execute a baby after it is born

moderator (paraphrased): there is no state in which the execution of a baby is legal. it's the end of your talking time, so you aren't allowed to respond!

totally neutral environment people!

meanwhile, in california, coroners cannot investigate the mother of a dead newborn if the death could possibly be from birth related causes. (meaning no investigations if the mother popped a bunch of pills at the last minute to kill the baby) https://archive.is/Wx0UK

they tried the walled garden already with the windows store, an adoption was so poor that all of the games that were worth it were released to steam.

Apple has been doing the walled garden thing long before Microsoft, and unlike Microsoft they are actually decent at quality control. the users who prefer that kind of environment already use apple, trying to compete with it using a team of Indian consultants is a fool's endeavor.

SteamOS works great on the steam deck, and has been an excellent baby's first Linux machine for me. for how weak the steam machine is, it runs games incredibly well. I know you can download this operating system on your own hardware as well, but your mileage may vary.

Windows has been increasingly taking power away from the user in their operating system. the straw that broke the camel's back for me was learning that it is possible to have a file on on your hard drive that you cannot delete, even with admin rights. the only way to delete it is to go through Microsoft tech support.

combine this with the invasive nature of the operating system, and it's clear you don't own your own computer. it's theirs, they just let you use it.

the only console company to still be a fan of at this point is Nintendo, and even then the quality of their stuff has been lacking.

PC is the future, I just wish it was true PCs and not Windows rented machines.

A fucking screenshot

granted, the source article predates online publication so archiving this is a bit of a chore.

I can confirm that New York Times attributed this quote to Truman in their obituary of him. https://archive.is/BOGXj

try archive.is or ghostarchive. those tend to be much faster than archive.ph
