old news, but worth repeating. especially when you consider that this generation grew up on Star wars, Harry potter, hunger games, etc. all series that have clearly defined boundaries between good and evil, with little nuance or consideration for why the bad guys are doing what they're doing.
It could be worse, they could be presenting clearly evil values as "misunderstood," or "try to see from their perspective," and play towards sympa- OH WAIT!!
Note: I have no issue with alternate perspective antagonists with nuanced justifications. Just don't present true evil as "nuanced or misunderstood."
