Not downplaying how terrible of an idea this policy is, but I'm almost certain there are ways to circumvent this if it were implemented. Example, instead of leaving the land to your heir, just "sell" the land to them for a lowball price like $1.

I'm going to glow post for a second here, but

We know they're rigging elections by ballot harvesting, fucking with the counting process, and so on, and we know how they're doing it, so what's stopping the GOP opposition from doing the same?

Especially since if you want to escape prosecution afterward, it seems that in practice all you need to do is to destroy evidence and not talk or cooperate with investigators.

I am NOT endorsing this obviously, but its the next logical step after courts set a legal precedent by refusing to do anything about the 2020 shenanigans.

"Rural white males contribute nothing to modern society."

He says, as he stuffs his face with food thats ingredients were grown on a farm, while sitting in a house built of wood grown in the forest, with electricity coming from a powerplant that is likely coal-fired

At the very least, the vaccine passports some governments have suggested is certainly a big step in that direction. Never getting the vaccine because of that, in addition to the safety reasons.

And pray tell, why is it that Europe has improved over 1000 years while Africa hasn't?

Example:

Keep in mind that Africa is the continent with the fewest natural resources and Africans have consistently higher IQs than whites.

The opposite of the above sentence is true

Women are attracted to perceived strength. Similarly, a lack of perceived strength makes women not be attracted.

Women hate it when men they find unattractive approach them romantically.

Therefore, "nice guys" are hated because they approach women but don't present themselves as being strong and assertive, which makes them naturally unappealing.

It doesn't help that a lot of "nice guys" intentionally present themselves as being the opposite of the "strong" masculine archetype.

That's what simps and male feminists don't get- women will say whatever is socially acceptable, but do what comes naturally. So women will say they like "soft" men, but when presented with a choice, they will 99% of the time pick the strong assertive man.

Yeah that's part of it. Similarly you may notice that those most fascinated with documentaries on male serial killers, tend to be women. Sometimes it goes even farther than that, Ted Bundy for example received fan mail and petitions to let him go free, from a number of women. Some school shooters have similar things happen to them too, during their trials.

It makes sense when you think about it. Women are naturally (some might say genetically) drawn to whatever man proves himself most able to ward off rivals. The "bad boy" infatuation and obsession with serial killers is just an extension of that.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, because I am not sure I remember this correctly.

But didn't Trump suggest withdrawal from Afghanistan a few years ago, and got massive blowback for it? Or was that Syria?

In any case, the whole thing is indeed pointless. A second Vietnam as Ron pointed out.

For the sake of this discussion, let's assume "parallel society" means an actual "parallel society" with some degree of separation, and not simply a slightly different culture that is otherwise part of regular society. So urban ghettos and reservations for indigenous peoples don't count.

The only real "parallel societies" that exist in the West today, that I know of, are religious groups that were established hundreds of years ago. I am American, so I can only speak for my part of the world and not Europe or Asia.

There are the Amish. They're German-descended fundamentalist Protestants who reject technology, and wider society entirely, and basically keep to themselves. If you see "Amish" owned businesses they are most likely Mennonites (related, but less strict group) using the name with permission, as true Old Order Amish are agrarian and isolationist.

FLDS are fundamentalist mormons that setup isolated towns in the desert to practice their religion privately. It isn't a good example of a parallel society, as their leadership are polygamists who kick out the excess young men so they can marry literally dozens of women each, many of which are underage.

There are the Hutterites, also technology-averse Protestants, but from Ukraine and not Germany. They are mainly in Canada but some are in the north-central US.

There are countless communes of varying viewpoints, as well as facilities like monasteries, but I don't think they count because they are either too small to truly be "societies", and/or have some degree of integration into society.

If you want to go about starting a new "parallel society" today, it might be doable depending on how much separation you try to introduce. If you separate too much and too successfully, expect a fate similar to the Branch Davidians or the people of Ruby Ridge. Not being a doomer, it's simply established fact that the system doesn't like people to escape.

Amish, Hutterites, and other groups are tolerated only because they're already established, too big and too openly benign to suppress without public backlash, (and simultaneously too small to have real influence) and have no interest in interfering with modern politics/culture.

That being said, it's entirely possible to avoid the worst of modernity without getting on the radar too much, so that would be a good place to start. Focus on getting numbers first, then break away by degrees.

In Missouri and other red states, vaccine refusal on partisan grounds has become a defining marker of community affiliation. Acceptance within some circles is contingent on refusal to cooperate with the Biden administration’s public-health campaign. Getting vaccinated is a betrayal of that group norm, and those who get the shot can legitimately fear losing their job or incurring the wrath of their families and other reference groups.

Many of the people refusing safe, effective vaccination amid a deadly pandemic are enmeshed in a very distinctive type of relationship that sociologists have been studying for more than 70 years: the con job. Con artists gain social or financial advantage by convincing their marks to believe highly dubious claims—and to block out all information to the contrary.

You can still spread the virus even with the vaccine.

"But, but, but the vaccine helps prevent symptoms"

Yes, and asymptomatic spread is apparently a thing.

It's a complicated idea, but I think I can see where you're coming from and mostly agree. I would venture a step further though and say that those who adhere to increasingly fringe mass political movements, and those who become extremely obsessed with fictional universes, are both subsets of the same trend. Which is, people are trying to find some kind of meaning, some kind of ingroup to belong to, and something to "fight' for, in a world that has become more and more sterile, homogeneous, and devoid of actual struggle. Basically what you said- they want a framework and a group of likeminded people to help them in life, and in lieu of religion they find other things.

You would probably really like Ted Kacyzinski's book "Industrial Society and its Future". Ted notes many of the same things you note- the breakdown of "traditional" ways of organizing and viewing society, like religion and the family unit. And that people have tried to fill this void in other activities, with varying degrees of success.

His manifesto isn't directly related to what you are talking about- it's ultimately about how he believes technological development is causing most of the social and mental problems in modern people, because technology leads to changes in the structure of society that people are not psychologically equipped to handle. But his discussion on "surrogate activities" that people use to find meaning when they don't have any real struggles, touches on some of the same points that you talk about.

Edit: the book itself can be read online for free, don't bother buying it.
