Its amazing how little history they know that of all the Mesoamerican tribes and people's they could use to get 50% of what they want out of this idea (the look, the art, the violence) they pick the one that literally has no redeeming qualities or moral ground to stand on.
The Olmecs are right there, and despite being centuries apart contain a bunch of the same cultural traits that the Aztecs do that would get you most of the same stuff without any of the historical hate.
But that would also remove the "white man bad" angle as they went extinct sometime in the 300~ BC times, and we all know that is the other half the reason they picked this to begin with.
Its been a bit since I read it, but wasn't the final chapter like 3-5 years? There is plenty of time for that fluffy "she is angy and needy, he is awkward and shy" stuff everyone wants.
The progress is really done, we don't need to do anything major with it. Just write some cute nonsense until people stop showing up enough to be worth it.
As long as it doesn't go the Horimiya route and drag it out so long and terribly that it makes me actively turn on characters I once enjoyed.
On the flipside, Japan's heavy purity focus is one of the things that has held feminism and the like back for so long. They will bankrupt entire companies if a girl in one game is shown to have a boyfriend she has sex with, and will do so violently and aggressively. Its why Idol culture is as strict as it is, because even the hint of sexuality or desire from these girls is like blood in the water for fans to abandon and destroy them.
There is already a huge push in the industry for "sluts are actually good!" and its clearly being used for subversion. Rent A Girlfriend is the famous one, but I've stumbled upon far too many that aren't just NTR bait and are trying to sway perception in an unhealthy manner to our Western Hedonism and Degeneracy.
So while I bemoan how much its effecting the arts, I think for a political purpose its better to keep it this way than the alternative.
They could but personally I don't think that would be very worth it. Half the enjoyment is her aggressive pursuit/love for him and his completely awkward squirming around it. If they are still acting like that well into marriage/kids then it'll feel really reductive of their character growth.
That's just my opinion though, it could work perfect for some people.
Part of being high trust is that if McScammington pulls shit like taking your money and not delivering on those noble goals he claims, you can either drag him into town square and beat him into an honest man or trust that the legal system will ruin him for doing so.
We have reached low trust because the people who run things like that get no consequence for their lies and stealing, and in fact get protections if you ask for that to happen.
As I wrote in my recommendations to the other guy, some of my favorites also involve people already in relationships or continuing past. Another, Oogami-san, Dadamore Desu, was one of my favorites while it was coming out and it gets them together super early and just explores the funny hijinks they get up to without ever needing to get into the nitty gritty.
Its not even that the chase isn't fun enough for an entire story. I can't imagine Kesa mo Yuraretemasu actually continuing once the chase is done, because the framing and theme won't make sense or work anymore afterwards.
But so many of them set up these entire casts and plots and arcs, and then just drop them all once the MCs get together, enough that it seems forced. And we all hate it.
do an anime only original ending
The ending to the manga was perfectly fine, its just the standard "and we jump ahead X years to see they are still together and happy and progressing in their careers." Caps everything as good as you can expect from such a series.
You can keep that and just write more stuff up until you do that time jump, just straight up more "filler" content for people to enjoy the fanservice of.
Ironically, that's what Dragon Ball is still doing to this day. As End of Z is still the last piece of the timeline, every bit of Super is just them adding nonsense before doing the timeskip to end it.
I think in a way its because there is a strong "purity" culture still in Japan, and they want their escapism to maintain that as much as possible. Especially with the heavy industry focus on waifuism.
So if they show them in a relationship, they have to show progress in that regard and that risks upsetting a lot of people if they do stuff that people do in relationships. Because otherwise you get stuck in the "what has actually changed from before they got together" rut, and that's even more frustrating because there isn't even a big tension building payoff waiting at the end of it.
As a recommendation for some manga for your hunt, Do Chokkyuu Kareshi x Kanojo is one of the loudest series ever written that gets them together like 1/3 into its run time and Arakure Ojousama wa Monmon Shiteiru actually made the long "will they" pay off through the character's developments and is still ongoing (though the TL is incredibly slow and keeps getting dropped) after they got together.
the author sped up the ending because of health risking it to be unfinished
That just irks me more how much time was wasted on that entire arc of characters I didn't care for getting introduced, doing their entire plot and then disappearing in a single sitting.
I'm not displeased with what we got, and I'm not going to hate on her for getting sick. But the series as a whole would have been stronger if they just cut that completely.
My Dress up Darling S2
I don't know how far the anime has progressed, but I truly hope they skip the "girls sitting around talking" arc or at the very least trim it down. It takes up like 1/4th of the entire manga and its literally a bunch of characters you don't care about talking about their feelings.
Afterwards it hurtles fast into the progression everyone wants, becomes PEAK for a bit in terms of humor, and then (like all romcoms) abruptly ends because they are scared to write the "in a relationship" part for long.
Shield Hero S4
I dropped out of the manga about the time they finished the Spirit Turtle and he woke up double isekai'd, as it felt like it had been dragging for a while. I assume they are past that point by now, does the Anime improve on that and make it worth pushing through?
Also, for whoever might be in the camp. I was dragged to see the Demon Slayer movie by my wife despite never having seen a single episode. And it was still an amazing watch, sans a flashback lasting a little too long in the second half. The quality of it was literally astounding as an old weeb to see that kind of budget on the big screen in America, and it was overall just a great watch even if I know I was missing a lot of emotional resonance and payoffs.
As someone who at a similar age trolled and "got heated" with protestors for other Leftie nonsense, I can't say I fully approve of this low end mockery in any sense beyond "you created this sword, die by it." Which is where I stand for the record, but I acknowledge my personal hypocrisy in doing so.
But at the same time I never would apologize or backdown meekly like this if it was something I felt strongly about enough to go and act like such. Its such a sad beta bitch move of someone acting like an evil clown when they thought they were immune, and then making up a sad little story about being a hero, and then groveling for scraps (9000 is very low for a GFM).
Its basic Leftism. You are to deny your lying eyes and never put two pieces of a puzzle together.
I think one of the oldest pieces of that was them decoupling sexual proclivities from personality, where you cannot judge a "strong, independent feminist" woman by the fact that she enjoys being dominated, force bred, and other "classically woman" in private.
Except of course men, who any sexual desires are evil and proof of them being bestial.
That much has been obvious for everyone here's entire life, and likely before that.
There was a very brief period in the late 00s when the Left felt so comfortable and powerful that they allowed jokes at their expense to exist, but the creation of Intersectionality and its evolution into the Woke took away that comfort from them and any ability to joke whatsoever.
After seven years of promoting non-cash payments, we are moving toward real efficiency
So the time to see this coming was years ago, because this is the obvious end goal of anyone trying to push this.
Everything from banking to renting an apartment
So this is bigger than just banking, something you could theoretically get around if they didn't also push a cashless society. This is a complete social credit system fully digitalized.
which aligns entirely with the World Economic Forum’s plans for the Great Reset
So we get to watch in real time as the WEF shows off its "plan" and the resulting explosion it brings. Because when I think of a country with a stable enough society that can handle a fully digital existence, it certainly isn't fucking Nam.
Fortnite is just following the path GTA5 set for it.
I knew middle school boys back in the day working full time outside school doing every job they could get for money to spend on GTA nonsense. They made so much money on that game that you could feel companies shifting gears to try and replicate it.
Its not like its an absurd scam level problem. The difference between a console and a simple PC is probably pretty small depending, especially if you need to buy keyboard/mouse/monitor as well. And for a lot of guys whose entire library is "CoD, NBA, and a few others" its not even a real loss of opportunity as those games will always be on those platforms in their most updated form. The vast majority of console guys are only "gamers" in the loosest sense, and that will always be the case.
Its always amusing how flippantly they use "gamer" as a label when its such a broad spectrum of people that its hardly useful to begin with.
The guy playing CoD for a few hours on the weekend with his IRL friends is a gamer the same way someone playing 1000 hours weekly to practice his speedrunning/esports career. Yet one is a random black male while the other is an obsessive tranny.
Its important because there have been numerous actual people with power trying to pin this on games, along with rumbles of trying to "do something about it" (like dragging Gaben into Congress over it) and thereby the superfluous detail is quickly becoming the all consuming trait of the story.
Nobody cares that he plays games because literally everyone under 35 likely has. People care because it keeps getting brought up as a smoking gun to be the anchor that powerful people use to paint and bury the story. Its incredibly obvious that they are using it for something.
Its flavoring the narrative. Its like them making sure to say "Trump, 37 time convicted felon and tiny hand haver" every single time he comes up in conversation. Sure its true but the intention behind saying it every single time makes itself clear enough to be worth bucking against.
You are giving them benefit of the doubt when they have earned none, and letting Lefties/journos get away with their subtle machinations because "well, both sides muh principles."
There is a reason why, for all Nintendo's faults, they still have "fans." Because they are the only one in the game still making consoles for gaming and their gimmicks push towards that functionality instead of trying to be something else.
Nintendo has 900 of its own problems we can harp on, but that's the one thing they have over their competition.
They will drop 1k on a consolol + controllers and a headset
For a long period of history the console, accessories and game was cheaper than the PC alternative. Simply because most games of quality didn't run well on lower end PCs, so you had to buy much stronger stuff compared to the console guaranteeing it for a fraction of that price.
There was even that short period where console functionality as a "multimedia box" made it the much smarter option for getting bang for your buck.
That hasn't been the case for some years, as PC parts have gotten cheap enough that you can run most new games on ones that are close enough to consoles in pricing. And the console price raising making that difference even narrower to a point of "paying the same for a lesser product."
I remember when Epic tried holding games hostage for a year or so. That died pretty quick.
That's because they were fronting the money to basically compensate for the fact that everyone knew it was going to be a huge sales loss. They can only toss money into a pit for so long before people start getting mad.
And between the bad press, lawsuits Epic was specifically in, and that companies figured out they could do "early access" on Epic while taking their money before releasing fully on Steam as it ended it was clear even the devs were taking advantage of them.
Xbox specifically is the reason why multiplayer has a subscription model, as well as most small form DLC.
Never forget that PS3 had free multiplayer, while Xbox didn't. Which caused Sony to just say "well they seem happy to pay for it, free money" in the PS4 generation.
And then when Valve, back when they made games, worked on maps for L4D after release intending to give them for free, Xbox demanded it be charged for on their platform to not "set a bad example" by giving it out without a cost. Likely because they were trying to use that "mappack for 10-15$" model on Halo at the time.
Not to mention that Horse Armor, the originator of basically all bad microtransactions and "skinpacks for money instead of earning in game" game about on Xbox with Oblivion. Bethesda, being who they are, were happy to join them in doing so.
So not only is Xbox not worth it, and hasn't been for over a decade, they are literally responsible for most of the cancer that we rail against right now. And not in a general sense, but actively and directly caused it.
There is something to be said about "I don't owe you shit, and I'm not dignifying you with a response" being a valid and even respectable answer. I think most of us would give that back to a lot of Lefties asking us for "proof" of something.
But that's also a fine line where you have to actually be innocent to begin with, and not actually respond beyond brushing it off flippantly. They've failed both of those so it simply looks worse for them now to do so.
Legally, thanks to Dodge v. Ford, they must act in the interest of the shareholders. People who have usually little interest in the company as it exists or what it makes, only that their "investment" in it grows. If they do not work to make line keep going up, they can be ousted and replaced incredibly easily.
While that's only American law, globalization and international companies mean they often are forced to adhere to things like that in their biggest markets and operate accordingly.
