The idea of 5 people in a row holding the same speech is beautiful! When one gets cut off & kicked out? The next picks up exactly where he left off. 😁

Of course each would have a back-up speech, just in case the first few are allowed to finish. Plenty to complain about, eh? No shortage of topics.

Another mass-murderer flip-flop in a Semi, here in Manitoba, is fighting deportation too. He fled the country before his sentencing & is now claiming he'll be persecuted in his homeland. And idiot judge(s) give him more rights than we citizens are allowed to have.

Ditto for one who killed a mother and daughter. I'm sensing a pattern here: lawyers getting VERY rich off the taxpayer's dime.

One of the better story arcs in Frieren is the little demon girl taken in by a villager family. Demons and humans cannot co-exist, even if you are endlessly kind to them & teach them the trappings of civilization, they're still demons to the core.

A great arc is the "Demon Diplomats".

They fought Bush I's victory in the courts for months. "Hanging chads" remember? Ignoring the dozens of Democrat-favoring events that definitely skewed the vote count (in the Dems favour, so ignored!).

Hillary to this day insists that "A vast, Russian conspiracy" flipped the election on her, that SHE actually won! She spent $1 BILLION of DNC money on that campaign, the Russians spent $144K in total, half was supporting Sanders :/ Some of it opposed Trump too.

I try to give some diversity to the "Jews! Jews Did It" posting that's so common. Funny, interesting or quality political topics. I try to keep the catgirl posts to a minimum 😸
Maybe 1 post a week on average? Probably less.

Organized resistance is required, they are highly organized too!
Individuals can make good "moments" but rarely amounts to much other than a soundbite.
Rosa Parks wasn't alone, there was a large group behind her & 3-4 previous attempts on the busses didn't get any "traction" like her case did. She didn't just do it spontaneously, she had training & practice. 👍🏼

My theory is that robot tech will "plateau" and stay relatively stable for decades. Sort of like cars are now. Sure the 2020's cars are different than the 1960's ones, but not a whole lot has changed. Big heavy muscle cars? Ford F-150s :/ Improvements within the existing tech as opposed to an evolution like EVs replacing the ICE.

Why restrict tech advances in robotics? The (hundreds of) millions of robots already made would become obsolete & the billionaires wouldn't like that. Replacing them every decade would be brutal to the bottom line. Plus the higher-tech ones would overpower the existing ones, making robotic security very flimsy.
So, plateau. Plus reality may cause that too. Liquid metal? Nah, unlikely.

the whole game was fantasy so who really gives a shit about that particular sliver of realism.

Correct. But he was big on the "realism" of combat & weapons. That came from his tabletop game background. Economics however? When a goblin carries a year's worth of wages? Lolz. So broken.

I lived through it all! Satanic Panic, D&D is demon worship, "backwards masking", anti-nuclear activism & more. Mostly while at a Fundamentalist Christian boarding school (because my high school had a shooting in 1979... in Canada!).
It was all openly idiotic! But the Media ran with it & there was lots of money to be made "investigating" these things.

It is. The "new edition" has Orcs as cool guys, gayness everywhere & human males are useless. So I've read. In their promotional images, at least 7/10 persons in them are gay, usually cross-species too. I don't mean half-elves, I mean animals or demons and demi-humans.

I love GuP! They're still cranking out the movies every couple of years. They quality is very good too.
The Series had it's flaws, but cute girls doing cute things... in panzers? Hard to top that.

You are correct. I had this conversation IRL with a nut-job Alarmist. He had some far-lot ideas! That was one of them.

Now, all those coal stations they've been building? If AGW Theory were true, that might have some effect? But as long as they have recorded weather, this sort of heat happens virtually every single year. Sometimes for weeks.

Yes, they DO want to colonize us: to turn Canada & everywhere else they go into India & Pakistan. Even their own leaders see this and try to tell them: hey! stop doing that! You're making people hate India!
Everywhere they go they just make a new shithole.

Neither side has enough to make a dent in their populations, eh? Unless the radiation triggers Zombie Hordes (unlikely!) They'll still both be massively overpopulated. Just with some cities moved to less radioactive locations.

They have built, or are building, a small number of nuke-power. Actual ones this time, not breeder reactors (from Canada!).
But mostly coal. They're adding a lot of coal power stations.

They tried "all wind and solar" in a couple of small towns... absolute failure. They didn't build nearly enough battery back-up (which currently costs 4X as much as the W&S) and blackouts were common. Also, iirc, the maintenance was WAY more expensive than planned, possibly because they were pretty isolated & far from cities. So the rates started low, but within a year were higher than before :/

But it has always been that way. It gets hot there, REALLY hot! It rains for several weeks in the Monsoon Season, a LOT of rain. Then most of the year is dry as a desert.
If they haven't adapted to in after all these thousands of years they should "Get The Darwin Treatment" eh? Not move to Canada!

Unless there's ways to knowingly change mid-term trends? Weeks, not days or months? With small alterations it would need a huge effort to rapidly change weather or to keep it un-natural for months at a time. Huge!
I think it might be possible to "guide the weather" and influence it slightly over that "medium" time period, but how and why I have no idea. To alter in the short term over a large area would need huge amounts of energy. In the long term the required effort would be gigantic because:

The system self-corrects, it has for millions of years. Unless large events, like super volcanos or comet strikes hit? Things follow a pretty narrow path.

It does, however, change over time. Measured in decades or centuries, millennia even. A "5 year trend" is a blip. That's what AGW is all about: pretending a natural warming trend after the end of the Little Ice Age (1700 - 1850, give or take) is human-made AND natural short warming spells are also 100% human caused.
Notice how cooling spells are utterly ignored by Alarmists, eh? If forced to see them, they too are caused by humans :/

I've said for decades now:
First robots will be workers. (we're here!)
Next comes security bots (almost there!)
Followed closely by sexbots that are "Bladerunner" quality. (Soon!)

Why pay some men to guard your $10M house and precious family (and yourself!) when humans are so frail? Prone to errors, can be bribed & etc. Machines won't betray you (or have sex with your daughters, probably).

It won't lead to utopia, it'll make the poor even poorer and the rich bolder. The middle class gets the sexbots though, so falling populations are inevitable.

No. They DEMAND that YOU live a "low carbon life" but THEY refuse to? They should lead by example, not by threat of force. Ok? Practice what you preach? Do unto others? Ok?
Add to that their refusal to require the #1 "emitter" on the planet, China, to live by the same rules they demand of you? It's all a scam.

Do you know what China's "Paris Pledge" is? To double their emissions by 2030. In accordance with the "Obama Agreement" allowing them to do so. Not reduce, double. This is fine with the Alarmists! India? They'll reduce after they get 1 trillion in funding. Until then? It's coal baby coal! Not a peep from the Alarmists. Pure hypocrisy.

There's several ways to make oil aside from drilling it, but the costs are high.
There's also VAST undiscovered fields of oil in hard-to-get-to place like the deep oceans. If the price is high enough? Those will be used some day too!

When they talk about "running out of oil" they mean "sweet light crude" which is easy to drill & easy to refine. The cheap stuff! That's just a fraction of the "proven reserves" globally.

If the atmospheric CO2 falls below (iirc) 180ppm? All life on Earth ends. The best times life had in the past? CO2 was well over 1000ppm. It's at what? 430ppm now? Warmer is ALWAYS better than colder. No exceptions. & other inconveniet facts! 😹

That is a new twist! Those "data centers" are free to sprout up everywhere, sucking down HUGE amounts of electricity often generated by FF. Not a peep from the Alarmists!

At least some of them are trying to build nuclear power to run them, eh? SAY! Why don't the just build Wind& Solar? So much cheaper & stuff.
Because that a big lie and they know it! 😡 Every kWh of W&S must be backed up or it all falls apart. The only available backup is fossil fuels, so the data centers want nuclear.
