Streetside parking is out of control, we need some kind of solution. A new parking complex, maybe: Right now it worsens traffic, makes crossing streets unsafe, and just invites homeless crime.
The road maintenance has not been satisfactory. Beyond potholes, there's a looming threat of flooding from improperly cleared drained, clogged with leaves. I say we should increase the "passes" that street sweepers do, even once more can make a difference, and it should be done before we get swept up in some heavy rainfall that floods some poor basement apartment.
How appropriate the last guy touched on flooding, since my issue is that our community is no longer a new sapling, it's matured. But our water mains have not been touched in several decades. The master on-off pipes to houses, many of them are threaded, unable to be used, discovered only when the city needs to turn off the water to do critical repair work and find itself unable to. We need an audit of the older buildings' water main's dials, and how many of them need repair, instead of playing whack-a-mole.
I'm more lighthearted. Our city's ribfest/carnival/homecoming event, I'd like there to be more vendors allowed and more permits offered, and to have the city sponsor buskers for it, to make it a real community event. It's good, but it could be better with more community involvement.
Property taxes are too high on local businesses. It's hard to fight big business, blah blah. Fill in the blanks from here.
The idea of 5 people in a row holding the same speech is beautiful! When one gets cut off & kicked out? The next picks up exactly where he left off. 😁
Of course each would have a back-up speech, just in case the first few are allowed to finish. Plenty to complain about, eh? No shortage of topics.
Five bonus speeches:
