As someone who followed gg at the beginning but not too closely (although I am very much for what it’s message is ) I wasn’t aware that there were ever 2 KiA. Could someone give me the cliffs notes version of what happened?
I did notice that KiA had a “whitelist” and a “blacklist” on topics to be discussed which put me off a bit.
Kotakuinaction's mission statement was opposition to censorship and bad journalism. It is impossible to oppose these things without opposing leftism itself. Virtually all bad journalism and censorship is coming from the left. So the sub began to organically tilt conservative.
The mods leaned more left, and they became obsessed with making sure the sub did not become "another T_D". So they implemented a ridiculously vague rule of "no unrelated politics". They then used this rule to remove content that was absolutely relevant but supported conservativism.
At one point, the mods actually put the rules to a vote. The users overwhelmingly opposed the absurd content removals. The mods didn't care. They ignored the results of the vote and continued arbitrarily removing content. Some of the mods became openly hostile to the users.
On a related note: the Kia mods lost their shit when users started talking trash about polyamory. I can't imagine the mods would have behaved this way unless one or more of them were engaged in the polyamorous lifestyle. We might have been dealing with literal cucks.
Kotakuinaction2 was created as a lifeboat for those who abandoned the increasingly garbage moderation of Kia. Whereas kia1's mods censored content to avoid becoming too conservative, kia2 mods are stridently free speech (to the extent that Reddit permits).
I've already seen Kia mods on .win lying about what happened.
Got it. That’s pretty pathetic to ignore your user base. And yes, it does appear you might have been dealing with actual cucks!
I'm relatively new to it too and noticed the same thing. I found KiA2 first and was like "did somin happen to the first one?" and looked, noticed the drastic drop in quality, then just went back to 2 without thinking about it. I wasn't even aware of all the history at the time.
I am still sadden that the KiA mods got control of kotakuinaction.win...
All of the mods are 100% opposed to t_d so i am surprised they would even want a .win community
They're anticipating the death of reddit and want to take control of whatever is likely to be next.
I think they just took it out of spite so we wouldn't get it.
Reading Bane's "olive branch" post and his arrogant assumption that THEY were the community and we just a lost flock of lambs, that's 100% the reason.
Telling them all to fuck off in the announcement thread was pretty fun. I got to use all the words that are banned on Reddit and then some, and they did not appreciate it. I think they'd forgotten what the Internet looks like when they aren't running the show.
It's pretty tough to find a comment of theirs on the announcement thread that isn't downboated like the Titanic.
Every comment they make is downvoted, both in KIA2 and Prime.
They lack the social skills to be civil people and maintain a working relationship with the community, all they know is smugness, dismissiveness, and "we are your superior deal with it."
Charitable explanation: because they wanted to escape the oppressive grasp of Reddit.
Non-charitable explanation: because they're the vanguard for leftist entryism into the dotwin domain..
The Donald mods, who are TheDonald.Win admins.
I think that half-KiA is coasting on their old reputation (and ours over here at 2) to slip under the radar.
hey man I have a question, how did you get here? how did the core KiA2 community find about this site.
We are the shadows
The true selves

Honestly, GamerGate was probably the largest mass redpilling of Millennials and Gen Z. Just like that dude was saying, it quickly became obvious to people that the Left was at the core of the attacks on our hobbies and Western way of life. When t_d started, a huge chunk of KiA joined up over there. When KiA mods cracked down on "pedes", they either left for t_d entirely, or joined up at KiA2.
Most of the people here are already t_d users.
I was there at the start in KIA but never a prolific poster. Over time it just got so hard to post anything and if I did not have the exact rules for posting right it was deleted.
It got just too hard to express an opinion
I saw the fights with mods and that guy trying to take back the channel and all that crap but was not getting involved or could not post
Thanks dude
KiA2 formed when the mods at half KiA rammed through Rule 3 "no self posts" despite multiple votes making it quite clear that's not what the community wanted. Then they started adding civility rules that Shads ignores to this day, as a pretense to boot people upset about it, and ever since, have increasingly narrowed on the categories of "acceptable" content until the Literally Who's themselves are no longer "relevant".
KiA2 is KiA with better mods and more freedom of speech to discuss whatever we feel we want, the votes being the ultimate deciding factor as opposed to tranny janny fiat.
Thanks! I had a feeling that was kinda what happened based on the insane amount of rules KiA posted.
Funny thing is, they used "admins are making us" as the number one excuse for these things, but with no reddit admins forcing them here, you're seeing their true colors.
Yeah I wondered why the rule list was so freakin long. Half of that shit is Reddit-enforced stuff.
I was a little bit amused when one of the first things one of the moderators said was that they would enforce the identity-group-thingy. Here. On .win.
I mean KIA2 did too. On reddit. Because reddit said so.
Did we? Some stuff obviously goes over the line, like 'niggers are subhuman and should be lynched', or trying to make this another Stormfront. But the lengths to which we have to take it on Reddit, no.
There were a lot of "This post constitutes an attack on a group based on identity bla bla bla" (paraphrasing here) posts on KIA2. At least when you read it half a day late, like I do because I live on the other end of the world.
Of course I cannot say how many of them were of the 'niggers are subhuman and should be lynched'-variety but I am sure there were enough that were less harmful.
If i remember correctly, Domitius sometimes commented how much he hated to enforce this rule when he still bothered to comment. I understand why he stopped though, the rule was overly vague and completely bonkers to enforce.
That is just DoM's way of saying that Reddit retards view it as an attack on identity group <insert retarded group>. I can certainly see why you would misinterpret that as him making that judgment, but that is dealing with sitewide enforcement.
I think DoM forgot a rule: no Aussies.
Same for me, though sometimes I did not mind. People posting echoes and retarded anti-Jewish memes are poison to a community. But a lot of other times, when it's someone writing an excellent post and just pointing out that some people are retards or faggots, that really pains me to have to nuke that work and deny people the ability to read it.
If you want an idea head over to KiA2 Reddit and read the post from HandOfBane about how by his grace the KiA2 community are allowed to continue and how he'll give us one more chance to behave ourselves.
Why not have a look at what KiA's top moderator posted on KiA2 regarding .win
The replies should give you a brief summary of why some posters are being reticent towards rejoining half-KiA here.
Yikes...I guess they didn’t want their olive branch. The user that complained about using .win shouldn’t worry though. AFAIK the mods seem to be very hands off here on the other .wins. You might see more Trump supporters here (like myself) but I won’t try to bother harassing anyone who doesn’t agree over it.
Both groups are effective in gathering information and sharing it, how they are moderated is quite different though.
I enjoy this place more for expressing myself and reading what others have to say.
Some might fight the other KiA more to their liking.
I don't think either are aligned politically and so you should be welcome on both if you want.
we can say tranny here?
retarded tranny nigger faggot
im gonna coooommmm!
The n word isn’t okay though. (Mostly it’s because we don’t want to be a target for MSM who can’t tell sarcasm)
Edit: I’d still listen to your mods on what’s ok/isn’t though.
They are going to do that anyways. A couple black kids went on a joy ride and now they are white supremacist terrorists. Reality is irrelevant to them.
Well I certainly can’t argue with you there. I’m just saying why the rule was implemented on .win
Wait, you can't say 'nigger' here?
We really need hosts that aren't in that shithole called America. I happen not to give a damn about what offends Americans.
What about spic, kike, wop, chink, poloc, dunder, kiwi, or hick? Can we say any of those?
I'm also curious about limey.
That sounds like kind of a big deal to me. I'm an american, but I don't use nigger to indicate skin color. It's a label that describes a degree of unpleasant and disruptive behavior, like assaulting a person because they said nigger. I heard some time ago that english people across the pond had a similar definition, but I doubt I could find a datasource online to back that up.
Anyway, if you come to discover that we really are barred from saying the biggest NoNo Nigger-word on .win sites, would you please arrange a stickypost or something to notify users (to not get their hopes up about this place)?
Well, I’m not a mod that was simply my interpretation of the rules. I could be wrong, don’t go by me as the be all end all.
It's hard to imagine, but sure, I'm sure you'll find out soon enough if this is the case.
Its free speech, but can be changed more restrictive within each win mods rules, akin to the culture of the win. td.win is the sitewide rules and are very short and simple. I am glad to have people seeking freedom as well for their interests as well. There is a possibility that the degeneracy of reddit may be its downfall.
I love this community
It’s not a .win rule, if that’s what you mean.
I'll do you one better.
Edit: Actually no I won't for the time being in the interest of keeping the subreddit up for as long as possible.
Naming that guy is still a bad idea for as long as we're active on Reddit, since the Reddit admins nail us for anything that is posted two clicks deep. Since we are linking to the frontpage, and this is linked from the frontpage...
Oh hey. Sure I'll change it.
Thank you!
Oh, you mean Char-broiled melon?
essentially the mods of KiA were so afraid of causing a stir they neutered any relevant talk to the culture war. Instead of fighting the culture war KiA became merely spectators. While KiA2 didn't exactly return to the activism of 2014, it would rather be banned and start over than be neutered. So KiA2 is more true to GG.
KiA had a vote like 2 years ago regarding restricting posting rules. What sort of posts would be allowed, did they have to be on topic, would a self post be fine, etc. The community overwhelmingly voted for the most permissive option where self posts were fine as long as it didn’t break other rules and link posts were fine as long as you could make a connection to a core topic and we’ll as some other things. We wanted to be able to discuss stuff like BLM doing idiotic and criminal stuff, msm news being morally bankrupt, stuff that didn’t have any direct connection to gaming.
Fast forward six months to a year later. The mods decide to change the posting rules to what they wanted and ignore the community vote. Having their vote that was clearly against this invalidated didn’t sit well with us and the mods being massive dicks while discussing this and never holding each other accountable despite clear and repeated violations of rule 1 (don’t be a dick). We tried to work with them, but KiA’s mods didn’t want to have their decisions and power questioned. So we made our own KiA with blackjack and hookers.
Yeah, the whole “blacklist” including BLM (ironically no pun intended I guess!) was a big put off for me.
Half KiA is for TDS suffering cucks and KiA 2 is for Based chads
Mods on KiA.win are either compromised or at the very least extremely dumb with authoritarian leanings.
From what I'm seeing looking around today, I think they're both. They don't even know they're compromised because they're too dumb to know what we're pushing back against.
Reminds me of the frat boys yelling "we're on your side" as BLM smashes their windows.
You can be openly neoreactionary, so far.
...It's two.
The difference between KotakuinAction and KotakuinAction2 is two.
Half KIA talk like fags and their shits all retarded
