I sometimes see people claiming Baldur's Gate 3 isn't woke. It occurs to me that this is only possible because people don't publicly spoil the story.
So here's what happens in BG3.
Act 2: the macguffin you've been searching for is actually an angel. A female angel. A butchy lesbian female angel. Who is fucking the bad guy's daughter. And that badass lesbian angel totally kills her girlfriend's mean dad.
Act 3: the mindflayer you've been working with is actually Baldur, the namesake of the entire franchise. Also, there's a dragon living beneath the city. And the two of them were gay lovers. That's right. Baldur's Gate was named after a gay mindflayer who was fucking a gay dragon.
So the biggest reveals in the game are super fucking gay, but no one talks about them because that would be spoiling the story. Isn't that clever?
They came up at E3 and said “GAY BEAR SEX!!!!!!!” Anyone who has a working brain knew the game was gay from there
Of course. But the refrain is always "you don't have to engage with that optional content" or "you can stick to straight romances". The big gay story reveals are not optional. The only reason they aren't more well known is because they are mysteries revealed after significant playtime.

It was an early access game, so maybe the 1st act was the least gay and they ramped it up from there. Kind of like season 1 of a show being alright and then it getting way worse in 2 and beyond.
I unfortunately bit on early access because dos2 was good, and I can confirm that Act 1 was pretty much devoid of gay.
Same here, it seems like they intentionally did that that as well because it would have destroyed their sales.
Act 1 starts with a hell-infected thieving demon-spawn refugee crisis straining the resources of the native druids, and the druids aren't portrayed as the good guys.

There are multiple pro refugee stories. In both cases, the people who oppose the refugees are revealed to be literally evil. So there's no nuance whatsoever. You investigate, discover the anti-refugee sides are irredeemably evil, kill them, and that's that.
That's because, as usual, the fictional portrayal of refugees is as people who are actually normal and in dire need of help, not subhuman stone age savages invading your country for free money and to make sport of your women.

People don't understand it, but this was one of the first games successfully marketed to women who gobbled it up like crack.
The point of the "bear sex" wasn't "teh ghey", it was capitalizing on the monsters sex fetish that has been prevalent for some time.
Balduron illithid dragon sex was similar in that it wasn't about the ghey, its the ultimate women's yaoi content of mega powerful creatures in sexy time.
Gameplay? Turnbased and perfectly approachable for women who can't do fast twitch games.
Voice acting was heavily invested in so that all the female characters would be catty but eventually tell you how beautiful you are, and all the male characters fall in love with you.
The most popular character? The "I can fix him" obviously evil daywalker sparkly vampire with a young male body in ancient wisdom undead and power.
All my wife's friends are apeshit over the game and they play it over and over. I have seen lines for the Astarion voice actor at conventions dwarf any other guest and its mostly women creaming themselves.
I have some male friends liked it and played through once. I tried playing it, act 1 was good but I lost interest. It wasn't a game designed for us.

Also what they should have done is have a fixed camera to give a board game feel like BG1 and BG2. Like XCOM.
Yeah, plenty of people do. Hell, the dude people worship around here for some reason Asmongoy brings it up every chance he gets to call it one of the best games ever made, that's a 2 million+ sized audience along with the typical midwit degenerates like Friday Night Tights and MauLer and his faggy crew too. It was fairly big and massive for it's genre when it came out.
visually, music, mechanically and gameplay wise bg3 is 9/10. just awesome. all the ways you can do things. most excellent!
storywise it's crap and gay and really stupid and i don't want to replay it at all.

Story basedgame can be 10/10 everywhere else but a story based game needs a story that doesn't suck.

It was gay before it released. It had early access and a shitload of people were talking about getting sexual advances from anyone/everyone regardless of gender. There were screenshots of a bunch of it months before it released.
Plus it had "body type" in character select IIRC. That alone is enough for me to nope out of a game.
There are thousands of good or better games from 2007-2018 that are visually only slightly behind modern games but with better stories, and an assload of games from 1990-2006 that are graphically inferior but gameplay superior.
I knew it was going to be gay when it went to turn based vs. real time with pause.
