This is the weak man/sociopathic woman dynamic that is dominating society currently. I feel bad for the guy, he probably loved the sociopath but he threw away his life and damaged his kids (who probably aren’t his) lives instead of doing the most basic, reasonable responses to his wife’s previous actions.
Those kids are really fucked. One can only hope they have loving grandparents who can raise them because the mother should be kept far away from them.

Yes, it would have required him to be a man and hold his wife accountable. From everything I saw about the story is he knew all of her doings and still just let the inevitable happen. Now those kids are fucked for life because they have no parents instead of the only one that cared about them.
Filing for divorce, even with proof of the other spouse misbehaving... The courts will STILL favor the woman in divorce settlement.

He easily could have pushed for criminal charges after he was dosed. She would probably get a sweetheart deal but it wouldn’t allow her custody of the kids, most states have it as an immediate deferment on custody rights.
Maybe, I don't know the details of the original attempt. If solid evidence was there sure... but I imagine if solid evidence was there, then she'd already be in jail.

One of the shitty things divorce lawyers tell guys if they KNOW their wife is acting out of pocket, is to hire a Private Detective and get actual evidence which can take months or longer... Otherwise, you're losing everything.
Whereas the girl can just walk up into court crying and make up whatever story at any tiime and take more than 50%.... Half the time their fucking story is just them crying while ambushing you with divorce and using your reaction to being blindsided as their evidence...

Yea this has been really big news here in Utah for like... the past 4 years. Everybody knew she was guilty as shit. Only took the jury a few hours of deliberation to convict her.
What did people think right after he died?
I live in the same county, and I don't think anybody thought much of it at the time, because there wasn't any info out on it. It was only after she wrote the children's book, and THEN she was arrested, that all of this stuff came out, and it became a sensation.
When he died, it was just some guy you never heard of, dying in his sleep. I don't know that it even made the local paper, except perhaps in the obits.
So I guess I should say that when "everybody knew she was guilty," that is to say, everybody knew once the Summit County Sherriff arrested her and put it all out there.
Glad the two options for sentencing are 25 to life, or life without parole, as well! No 10 years and out for this chick.
