Take those figures with 2 whole cups of salt.
Crime statistics are not universally being reported these days, and some jurisdictions have started re-classifying crimes to make their statistics look better. This was all deliberately started because nominal Republicans were using these stats to make policy, and Democrats being Democrats, they started altering the input data to those statistics to deny Republicans that talking point.
The best way to actually measure crime rates is the National Crime Victim Survey the DoJ does, which doesn't rely on suspect data inputs from nefarious state, county, or city districts that have ideological bias.
Truth: Lowest numbers since 2019, NOT 1900. The study shows no raw data and only percentage changes from 2018-2025. Other studies show the homicide rate increased in 2025 from 2024 and in 2024 from 2023. The rates at this scale do not say much compared to rates in cities and towns. Urban homicide increased and population decreased. Rural population increased.
I did find the concept of all these statistics being around in 1900 quite bizarre. I'm sure there are figures and that they can be compared to some degree but the level of detail for comparison would be vastly different from what we use today.
The FBI only started in 1908 and didn't really get itself together until the mid-1930s. Post World War 2 would be when the data starts being represented properly (Or closer to properly).
Thanks for the link, 2025 is 25% down when compared with 2019 with homicides. Burglaries are down 45%. Those are good numbers.
This is a direct result of closing the border and deporting murderers, even if you haven't charged them. Sucks for their home countries, but, fuck you you sent them here.
I think it's a combination of things. Trump said in the national guard to enforce laws in DC which used to be one of the highest murder rate cities in America. I believe there were other cities he worked on as well.
us murders are concentrated in US cities, hollowing out the murder rate and even one city would have a large effect on the US murder rate.
I grant that, but I want to be clear, that wasn't the National Guard. It was the DC Police. The DCPD decided they wanted to lower the crime rate. The National Guard troops just gave the cops breathing room to go on patrol while they stood around aimlessly and looked pretty near federal buildings.
Trump deploying the National Guard to communities that wanted to reduce crime helped them reduce crime themselves. But he only did that a hand full of times. The true drop in crime is coming from the collapse of the inflow across the borders and the mass arrests of criminals via ICE & CPD.
It's like saying "Wow, acid attacks and child rapes had the largest 1 year drop ever since the new Reform government started deporting Pakistani refugees. Is this because of tough on crime policies, or is it because the child rapists are gone?"
Specific cities, which for some reason, have 'strict' gun laws, and provide sanctuary to illegals because their leaders are anti-American commie bitches.
Alternate CNN headline : Undocumented productivity hits all time low amid ICE enforcement fears.

They were also on a multi-year downward trend from the Summer of Love.
I don't expect that trend will continue this year.
For sticklers like me, here's the article.
there's nothing wrong with expecting people to actually post what they're posting.
The article just shows a bunch of tweets saying the same thing. Tweets and fake news journalists love to lie, so let's find the truth.
Here is the single study they are all referencing: https://counciloncj.org/crime-trends-in-u-s-cities-year-end-2025-update/

seriously, why not just post the article instead of a gay screenshot?
So tired of screenshot posts.
In the time it took you to type that, you could search the title on Yandex.
Hey, a win is a win. When is the National Guard deploying in Chicago?
Right after the Air Force finishes making Arc Light runs.
CNN: Climate change takes another hit as Trump cancels natural CO2 sink.
So true
Correction: Tom Holman oversaw this.
