Ubisoft shares have dropped 34%, a fifteen year low. Amid this, a former employee from Osaka has rejected that DEI policies are to blame.

Investors are stupid cattle that will dump money into anything as long as you dazzle them with $20 buzzwords. Life in the C-suite is juggling between fleecing the customers and fleecing the shareholders, while getting a hefty performance bonus for it while you prepare your golden parachute.

That cause does not in any way discredit DEI, though. DEI and low competence go hand in hand, along with not being willing to serve audiences what they are willing to put time and money into.
OK, let's assume that's true (it isn't). DEI was supposed to bring in this huge new ModErN AuDiEncE. Where is it? Why haven't they showed up? You weren't lying about that, were you??
No one had experience making fremium mobile games. It was a new market. And instantly, as soon as people found a selling feature, it spawned infinite clones, because emulating success is safe and easy.
Ubi looked at that rising model, and went "hmmm... Millions per month in what is practically passive income for years and years... OR... We could NOT do that..." (Edit: fixed company, initially said EA because force of habit of bad companies, but they actually at least loosely know how to fleece a mobile game market)
Both are true at the same time. If you focused on getting enough experience making fremium online and mobile games then you would in fact succed. But instead you focused on DEI.
