Always has been ... in every country.

You can only tax the middle class. The poor don't have enough money and the rich have the means to avoid taxes.

Whenever they say "tax the rich" it always mainly hits the middle class.

Good news! Trump let everyone know his pick for federal reserve chief today: Kevin Warsh. The swamp will be drained!

Born: 13-Apr-1970

Birthplace: Albany, NY

Gender: Male

Religion: Jewish

What a cohencidence! Shalom Rabbi Warsh!

I’m gonna assume he has no power or authority to just put anyone he wants in that role. It’s either Jew #1 or Jew #2, as the member banks that make up the private F reserve would never allow a goy to fill that role, as they know what would happen—no more usury and the books would be cracked open and examined. Powell just got done spending billions with a B on renovations to the building making it a lavish fortified palace, with all the newest AI and tech available, so makes sense what’s coming on the middle class

taxation without representation is theft.

Fun fact! Washington DC license plates bear the phrase "Taxation without representation". The plates don't condemn it, they just openly state it. I was floored the first time I was in DC and saw that. I thought I was misreading it at first.

I think it's because the District of Columbia has no vote in Congress.

No representation.

That's cute and all but it's like saying our senators don't have representation because they ARE the senator for their district. I think BEING IN WASHINGTON DC is representation enough. The entire system is representing the (short term) interests of DC.

The 2020 election was fake. Why should anyone pay tax?

My new hobby: paying the correct amount of taxes but reporting it in such a way as to trigger an audit and waste everyone's time.

FYI once you get audited, you're put on a list to always be double checked. You only need to get yourself audited once.

The IRS needs to go. Reading that dumb shit just ruined my morning. It was just so accurate.

My hobby: make as little as possible, so as to stay under the Standard Deduction, and thereby pay no federal income taxes at all.

My last few years in the Navy I deliberately set my W-4 to nine deductions so as to have low federal taxes withholding every month as I could, and pay the income under reporting penalty at tax time. It isn't possible to do this now, the current W-4 doesn't have deductions anymore.

As a thought experiment, what would happen if corporations were taxed based on their stock value?

Since nobody seems to have an answer, I asked everyone's favourite chatbot. Excerpt:

  1. Corporations would actively suppress their own stock price

If higher valuation = higher tax burden, then:

CEOs are now financially incentivized to:

  • Guide earnings conservatively
  • Downplay future growth
  • Delay good news
  • Reduce investor hype
  • PR and IR departments would pivot from “storytelling” to “expectation dampening”

You’d likely see:

  • Intentional opacity
  • Fewer rosy forecasts
  • Less disclosure about long-term upside

In other words: truth becomes taxable.

  1. The market would bifurcate into “tax-visible” and “tax-hidden” firms

Expect rapid migration toward structures that reduce taxable market cap:

  • Going private
  • Dual-class shares with limited float
  • Off-exchange trading
  • Tokenized ownership
  • Conglomerates broken into legally separate shells
  • Heavy use of subsidiaries and spin-offs

Public markets would shrink or become a niche for firms that want visibility.

Private equity would explode.

Blah blah blah corporations actively sabotage themselves/go private and pay out their shareholders more.

The IRS was given guns because now they go to yard sales, and garage sales. Passing online limits wasn't good enough for Biden.

The IRS is literally a communist organization created by communists to create the conditions to start a revolution. It's been that way from day one
