My new hobby: paying the correct amount of taxes but reporting it in such a way as to trigger an audit and waste everyone's time.
FYI once you get audited, you're put on a list to always be double checked. You only need to get yourself audited once.
The IRS needs to go. Reading that dumb shit just ruined my morning. It was just so accurate.
My hobby: make as little as possible, so as to stay under the Standard Deduction, and thereby pay no federal income taxes at all.
My last few years in the Navy I deliberately set my W-4 to nine deductions so as to have low federal taxes withholding every month as I could, and pay the income under reporting penalty at tax time. It isn't possible to do this now, the current W-4 doesn't have deductions anymore.
