Israel has dropped about 200,000 tons of explosives on Gaza since Oct 7, equivalent to nearly 13 Hiroshima bombs. (twitter.com)

The only good thing to come out of this is Isreal burned up all public sympathy in the West and that Netanyahu is finished after the war concludes.

They tore down most of Hamas' military infrastructure. Took Hezbollah down a notch or twenty. Collapsed the Syrian regime and ended the Syrian civil war. Defanged Iran.

Hamas' military infrastructure

They didn't. Most of the tunnel network is still intact.

Took Hezbollah down a notch or twenty

Barely. The biggest challenge Hezbollah faces is the Lebanese government who'd rather suck off Israel than fight for its people.

Collapsed the Syrian regime and ended the Syrian civil war.

Civil war hasn't really ended and since then Israel is regularly bombing Israel to make sure that Syria can't stabilize despite the Al Qaeda terrorist bending over backwards for them.

Defanged Iran.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The US had to get involved to stop the war because Israel got pummeled so hard by Irans missiles despite them not even being able to really use their missile forces in the eastern parts of the country. Israel was desperate to stop the war because even though multiple countries helped them defend the missiles still got through while obliterating their stockpiles of air defense ammo.

If Iran and Israel go toe to toe without the US (and all the other countries defending their air space for them) getting involved Israel will lose spectacularly.

Well, ironically, as long as nukes aren't involved. Then Iran will lose (but so will Israel in the postwar period).

Nukes aren't an I-Win button. The second Israel chucks nukes it'll be wiped off the map. Chucking them at Iran when Iran can't even invade them would be akin to shooting yourself in the head to avoid admitting defeat in a fistfight.

Besides there's no guarantee that their nukes even work. If they exist at all.

Yeah, that would happen, although I wonder who the annihilation would come from exactly.

The entirety of the Middle East. If Israel ever crosses that line there is no way in hell the corrupt Arab governments will be able to remain passive without getting killed by their people. And I highly doubt even Trump will be able to convince Americans to go die for Israel at that point.

Egypt alone probably has enough chemical weapons to sterilize Israel multiple times over. And remember Iran has a lot of missile bases all over the country. All in underground bunkers. Just because Israel nukes Teheran doesn't mean Irans missiles will stop flying before their stockpiles run out.

Agreed. Egypt is not to be underestimated. Israelis brag about winning the 6 Day war, but they never mention that they eventually had to hand back the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt.

Good points. I wasn't aware that Egypt had WMDs but that would certainly be checkmate. Iranian bunkers would be heavily attrited by multi-kiloton explosions, though.

American direct action would certainly be out of the question at that point, but I'm not totally sure if American aid would be cut off. With ammunition deliveries from the US, I think Israel would be able to fight another Six Day War scenario by virtue of air dominance.

If the link to America is damaged, though, Israel would certainly fold.

Collapsed the Syrian regime and ended the Syrian civil war.

I guess tipping the scales so the most evil ruthless people in the conflict win the war is a pretty solid way of ending it. I mean, it's not like they're going to be weak.

The weren't the most evil and ruthless people, but they were pretty close.

Anyway, it was to illustrate just how Israel has had an impact.

Israel vs Iran: we can put a bomb in the window of an apartment building in Tehran in minutes. We know where they are at all times and strike with surgical precision.

Israel vs Gaza: we can't possibly know what's happening in this country we have completely surrounded with full air superiority and constant surveillance and also the country is the size of a postage stamp, there's just no other way forward than carpet bombing :( they got tunnels. Tunnels!!

This is the crux of it. Israel will claim the most precise and capable military and intelligence in the world, and then they’ll turn around and kill tens of thousands of women and children in order to “get to the terrorists”. This has never been an acceptable strategy in the court of public opinion, and yet you are called a nazi for questioning this behavior.

In case you missed it? Hamas hides everything behind civilians. They hide soldiers, munitions and infrastructure to make it impossible to knock them out without civilian casualties & infrastructure being damaged.

This war has the lowest % of civilian to military losses than any comparable conflict in history. The single battle of Ortona in WW2 saw 13% of the civilian population killed in 4 days. Even if Hamas' numbers are true (they are not, but that's another matter) the % is far from that after 2 years of fighting with Hamas actively trying to get civilians killed & killing them themselves too.

Yeah and that's the problem not the bombing itself. Yall keep trying to make it seem like we should consider the muslims victims instead of focusing on the grifting of tax money. You will never catch me trying to drum up sympathy for muslims or jews

The bombing and our taxes are directly linked.

Yall keep trying to make it seem like we should consider the muslims victims instead of focusing on the grifting of tax money.

Palestinians are literally the victims in this case. The have been ever since the Zionist movement started to spread in Palestine. And Christian Palestinians exist too in case you forgot. Israel deliberately bombed Christians churches in Gaza, some that stood unmolested for almost 900 years.

So if you actually cared about Israel blackmailing, bribing and threatening the politicians of the US and Europe to steal our money and send our soldiers to die for them to enable itself to do this then you wouldn't say 'lol who cares'.

The number of Christians in Gaza has fallen below 700, last I checked, down from 3000+ when Hamas took over in 2015. Most are old Priests & Nuns confined to their churches. Gaza is 99.99% Muslim.
There are very few "Christian Palestinians" as it is haram to convert away from Islam and most who do so don't survive long.

*2005

They are a minority, yes. But it's still not a Muslim vs. Jew battle but an Arab vs Jew battle. Israel kills Christians just as happily as they kill Muslims. That's the point I'm making.

There were 5000+ in 2005. That still doesn't dispute that there was around 700 on 10/7/23, you are aware of that, eh?
It is Islam vs the world. Once they're done with Israel the next nation(s) on their list will be invaded one way or another. Europe is already gone, UK too. Sunni and Shia will fight among themselves for supremacy along the way too. Violence is not a bug in their religion, it's a feature, required even.
The Druze like Israel a lot & they get along pretty well. They're Arabs too, yes? So, no.

Israel has a right to defend themselves from any attackers. If Poland (for example) started sending rockets and suicide bombers at Israeli civilians in the name of Jesus? They'd get pounded right back, yes. But they, unlike Islam, wouldn't also attack the rest of the world like the PLO did back in the day.

Israel is literally the invader. Go shill somewhere else.

Violence is not a bug in their religion, it's a feature, required even.

Same goes for Jews and seeing every non-Jew as non-human cattle whose existential purpose is to serve Jews.

The Druze like Israel a lot & they get along pretty well. They're Arabs too, yes? So, no.

The Shia in Lebanon got along pretty well with Israel too. Until Israel treated them like they eventually treat every non-Jew and then Hezbollah sprang into existence and kicked Israel out of Lebanon. Same thing will happen to the Druze who don't already hate Israel.

One has to just look at satellite/drone footage of the Gaza strip. Israel deliberately and systematically demolished everything. Houses, farmland, olive trees, everything. For the same reasons why they've demolished villages and poisoned wells in 1948.

Not so much the path of least resistance(Nukes are detonated at altitude so that terrain doesn't get in the way) as that the blast radius is the cube root of the yield. And the area goes up with the square of the radius.

So 8 bombs of 1/8th the size blast twice the area.

Same reason cluster bombs are a thing.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 4 ▼
– The_Shadow_of_Intent 4 points 256 days ago +4 / -0

Yes, that is a succinct explanation. Blast waves are omnidirectional and they don't change directions due to resistance.

Modern airburst munitions have a radioactivity profile that's intended to dissipate in a few weeks.

Because, you know, you generally want to be able to claim the territory you've flattened.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 3 ▼
– Shill4Hire 3 points 256 days ago +3 / -0

Not just claim territory, it's wasted munitions: Any radioactivity could have gone boom, and made boom bigger. Leftover boom means less boom when you needed it.

In Cambodia? Which wasn't even at war with America? They dropped 2.7 MILLION tons of bombs from '65 to '73.
In Operation Menu alone (69 -70) they dropped 500,000 tons in 2 years.

So? Israel's bombs are better at blowing things up. Maybe don't start a war with them if you don't want your shit blown up, eh? Maybe don't hide your military assets behind civilians? That's a War Crime btw, but blowing them up is not.

Hysteria isn't a valid form of argument, ok?
