Sounds like they added a pretty invasive anti-cheat technology on top of everything else.
I'm getting really tired of game devs thinking that it's ok for them to give themselves kernel level access to my machine. It's getting to the point where I'll just skip a game if it demands that level of intrusiveness as a requirement to play it. There's plenty of other games bro, I don't need to play your malware.
And conditioning the populace to just passively accept having their machine hacked and backdoor access installed for state level actors to later maliciously exploit.
Note that 50% of those state-level actors will be "hackers" or "4chan hacking group"s for plausible deniability, since, after all, you willingly installed commercial access to kernel access for anyone to take.
Its Current Year. "X" edition means nothing anymore other than marketing buzzwords. Shows are releasing right now as "Complete Edition" the moment Season 1 ends, even though Season 2 is already confirmed. Any expectation you have of it being "all available" content before release is marketing playing off your assumptions.
This is scummy behavior, but these are the niggercattle who created this problem in the first place. Buying 100$+ version of games that come out, incentivizing companies to keep doing it.
The Ultra Edition only had Season Pass 1 because there were no plans to have anything beyond it.
The Ultra Edition was, for all intents and purposes, the complete game at the time they sold it. Now, that version is scrubbed from storefronts and replaced.
People who spend now what people spent before get more. The Ultra Edition owners don't get Season Pass 2 free or even get any special discounts.
I've seen people compare it to how Saber monetized World War Z, but I'm not too clear on how that went.

That's completely normal in vidya? You buy the Ultra Big Box Super Edition at release with various content and then a few years down the line the Complete Edition is released that contains all additional content for a cheaper price than the at release edition.
The UBBS Edition also gets removed from storefronts, cause why buy something that is more expensive and has less content than the Complete Edition?
If the Ultra Edition didn't promise "and all future content" then i dont see how this is a worthwhile complaint. Sounds like (ESL) retards not knowing how to read and then throwing a hissy fit.
That's btw the reason why I only buy (single player) games 2-3 years after release in the complete editions.
Im sorry but only a retard wouldnt expect them to release more content.
For fucks sake, its literally called “Season Pass 1”. They didnt call it an “All Season Pass”, or “all future DLC”. The name itself says that it’s going to be the first of the seasonal content, meaning theres going to be a 2/3/4/… as long as the game is active.
i mean, if i bought the ultra edition physical copy in stores, should I expect to get this ultra edition 2 free? or discounts on ultra edition 2 or 3 further down the line.
should i get a discount for my original copy of space marine for the remastered edition?
Another huge disappointment are the skins. They are ridiculously overpriced and offer nothing beyond minor cosmetic changes. There’s no real value, just lazy cosmetics dressed up with premium price tags — it reeks of a cash grab.
It’s especially frustrating because the core game itself is great: the Warhammer atmosphere, brutal combat, and a solid campaign that truly captures the spirit of the original. But all of this is dragged down by greedy publishing decisions and awful monetization practices.
Bottom line: Ultimate Edition was a scam, the new edition is being sold at the same premium price with more content, and the skins are absolutely not worth the money. As a fan of the Warhammer universe, this whole situation is nothing but a huge disappointment.
The story should be the anticheat. I couldn't give less of a fuck about early adopter whales seething about later buyers getting a better deal. I consider this a form of mental illness. The fact they copy paste their reviews doesn't detract from the impression that they're terminally seething.
Buy your games in physical disc form with everything already on it. If you can't get the game in that way and you absolutely must connect, it's not worth your time. And don't fucking use a service like Steam where at any point the publishers have the ability to alter your game files without your consent or knowledge, like we saw with the remastered GTA titles.
Or permanently "ban" you from accessing the games Steam claims you own.

Kernel anti-cheat in a PvE game... what the fuck.
It’s never been about snuffing out cheating. It’s about data collection and selling.

All Warhammer stuff is like this (nickel and diming, DLC bloat, etc.). If you don't want to get ripped off, then pirate Warhammer games.
So it’s the Netflix strategy now? Make a good game and give it decent support for a year and then pull the rug out, fuck everybody over?

For the record - There is no discount on the second season pass itself for owners of the Ultra Edition.
Edit: I just noticed the two reviews on the left are identical. Lazy.
Wait. So they added more stuff into the bundle? For the same price?
For a similar price. I think the Year 1 + Year 2 edition costs $10 more than the Ultra Edition did.
So they gave a better deal?

It wasn't called Season Pass 1 before. It's called that now to explain the second pass.

Why are those two reviews a copy-pasted paragraph? They're entirely the same text. The top one just continues where the bottom one does not.
No idea.
Edit: Here's the remaining text from the top one.
None of this is legal and never has been, but apparently no one gives a shit and just let’s game companies do whatever they want.
Gamers are retarded

For the eighty millionth fucking time...

Pc games don't even come in physical media anymore
Then it isn't worth your time.
If buying isn't owning, then piracy...
Which games are you buying in physical disc form these days? You could be more direct and say “don’t buy anything modern.”
