Its always extra funny when they do this on promo/marketing material. Typically when you advertise something you want the most people possible talking about it....but for some reason they just don't want people talking about this advertisement. I wonder why....
It's for me. I am often tempted to lash out and say what i think on social media but that is a trap. I will not be engaged and enraged. I am nothing and i will not happen.
Imagine being one of the biggest game producers in the globe and only getting 200 like on a post while having to shut down replies because you know you’ll be bodied into oblivion
Perhaps officially localized to be trans? They tried that with "I turned my childhood friend into a girl" which was also about cross dressing and a bit of the gay. But apparently (who would have thought) trans trumps all.
Would be kinda hard to do it with this one though (I read it, it's alright, definitely shoujo though). Not that I wouldn't put it past them to try.
The real reason it's featured there, is probably because they count gender non conformity in their stupid queer umbrella or whatever it's called. I was just being snarky with my previous comment.
Almost all tranny "representation" in Japanese media comes from misconstruing things like that.
I think the only time I've ever seen a legitimate tranny in the Western sense was in Fire Punch, and it was the most retarded autist in that story (which is saying a lot).
The only legit one I've seen was in Zombieland Saga. The blue haired kid that died of a heart attack, because he freaked out about going into puberty and growing a beard. lol
But usually it's either localizer freaks (Mashle season 2 is unwatchable) or the stupid fandom (recently started reading some isekai slop that featured a boy being forced to crossdess and the comment section is full of people sqeeing over their "trans queen")
Squenix hasn't been able to follow a trend or market properly since around the PS2 era. Its why despite owning one of the biggest franchises in the world, they haven't released a single fucking hit in it since FFX (unless you count MMOs, which adds one more that had to be hard re-launched).
This absolutely tracks with how slow they always are, that they are still going ahead with it while everyone else moves on.
If you don't like what people say about what you're doing, then maybe you shouldn't be doing it.

Ratio screams people are sick of the faggotry. Over two hundred thousand views with only ~380 retweets and ~320 likes.

Yeah, I remember that drama.
