No. I think liberalism (small L) has shown its fruits, and we are living in its end state. I am not a liberal. I don't believe in the equality of man or that my government should treat them all equally. My government should work for the benefit of my people. People whose ancestors built the country DO have more of a claim to it, and should have more of a say, than recent arrivals. I also believe that you have to restrain human nature, otherwise you will get an inevitable race to the bottom.
A true return to sanity and tradition is an understanding of these basic facts, and a will to use power when you have it, to enforce (or gently encourage) these facts as unassailable. The latter part is where conservatives currently fail miserably, but liberals have no qualms about.
