They've been irrelevant for years, even the mega mainstream ones like for movies which exists only as a giant party for actors and directors to circlejerk in. In other industries like gaming and anime its literally just been a bunch of self appointed "authorities" setting it up and then we were supposed to pretend to agree with it.
People are saying that Frieren should have won and not Solo Leveling because Frieren had better story , world building and characters and was more unique than Solo Leveling which people think is just another generic isekai similar to Sword Art Online.
They are going about this the wrong way. They should say that Solo Leveling won because people are misogynist against Frieren

The only Anime genre I care about is “Guy with cool weapon violently exterminates gross monsters + some tits” and anything that was on Adult Swim twenty years ago.

I used to tolerate them way back when, before microtransactions and "season passes"(which later ended up not giving you everything)
Because originally the main way to get an all inclusive edition was to get a GOTYE edition that like 12 games a year obtained.
